ACC Expnsion
We can draw a straight line from every major conference expansion to increased revenue except the ACC.

What am I missing? How did the ACC benefit from the additions of Syracuse, Pitt, & Notre Dame? What do the additions of these 3schools tell us about the ACC?

uh I don't like the ACC but just Syracuse and Pitt took them from a 12.9 mil per school tv deal up to like a 16-17 mil per school tv deal. That's before Notre Dame and Louisville even.

ESPN reported that SU & Pitt took ACC from roughly $13M/yr/team to roughly $17M/yr/team.

Dodd (CBS) reported that ND took ACC from roughly $17M/yr/team to roughly $19.5M/yr/team.

ESPN said replacing Maryland with Louisville had no effect on TV revenue (though I suspect it may affect other things).

If you look at it in terms of $/game it appears that with each expansion ESPN has never renegotiated the value of games already under contract, but it has paid market value for all new games added.

ACC jumped from 13mm to 17mm with Pitt & Cuse adding inventory and years to the deal.

ND is rumored at 1-2mm per school.

Wait but isn't the contract very back loaded and they don't get 17 mil until the last few years and for the first few they just make 12-13 mil?

Unless any of us the the contract we can either choose to trust Wetzel's sources or not.

Yes. However the question is the degree to which it's backloaded.

The comments in the article imply that it's more backloaded than expected to me but that is honestly open to interpretation.

If that is so, to get to a $17M per year average, those last few years must be HUGE.

Which makes it not very likely.

No, only the ACC's contract is backloaded and only the ACC's league office takes a share. Everyone else is funded by a secret government agency located in West Virginia's foothills - which explains all of their insiders.

It would have the final 6 years averaging 21.4 million

The final year would be about 25.8

Nobody has leaked that. The ACC quote was from "sources" the writer quoted.
