Predictions on this team in October
Most of my group, which consists of 12-14 self appointed experts, thought this team would be lucky to win 10-12 games. this year. 1) the feeling was that 8 new Fr. were huge question marks. 2) No one could have predicted how much Shane would bring to the table this year-----it turns out a hell of a lot. in fact he's BECOMING a dominant center in this league. 3) who could we rely on to handle the point??? AR and Klein have done a pretty decent job of it 4) Was David Brown ever going to fulfill his basketball destiny?? 5) Where in the world would our bench help come from???
So were 14-7, 6-2 in conference play. These young men are a tribute to basketball being played the right way. Chemistry, team work, a passion for the game, and being driven to win, makes it fun to watch these young guys play the game.
Regarding the lengthy thread discussing the Akron's choice of giving up a bracketology home game for more exposure just blows. I almost never disagree with gbl, but on this one I do. I do because I'm a selfish sob who wants to watch this team as much as possible. We have had too few home games this year to give one away for questionable gain.
It was good to see that Acer1 is doing his best to liven up the "section of the living dead" That theater seat crowd is just friggin lame...
