Love Tava's grit
The following from the gazette:

Hawkins wasn’t pleased that WMU, which had the top rebounding margin in the Mid-American Conference and 18th-best in the nation, was outboarded, 37-29, by a RedHawks team ranking last in the league in the category. After reviewing film, he must’ve changed his mind about Thursday’s practice plan.

Broncos senior reserve forward Dan Loney, when asked Friday about it, smiled and acknowledged it was a little physical Thursday. The ice pack covering the left side of freshman forward Connar Tava’s chest prior to Friday’s practice lent credence to Loney’s acknowledgment.

“Yeah, somebody elbowed me – going for a rebound, actually,” Tava said with a smirk. “It’s all right, though.”

I am sure he was hit harder as a football TE.

Certainly but I like his Reitz like mentality in there, although he has skills big Joe didn't have. I'm looking forward to seeing him mature as a ball player.

Can't help but love his physicality. Like Joe he loves contact, just has to watch unnecessary fouls. But as he gets along in the MAC he'll get more calls.
Kudos, kudos to this entire frosh class though, Conner is just one of a bunch. We in the stands really appreciate them. I don't know how many times I have heard the phrase 'and he's only a freshman'.
And I think part of the reason for that is the acceptance of them by our current upperclassmen. This entire team really seems to pull together and support each other. Really a joy to watch.
