Kellen McCormick will be a nice addition
Here he is in high school. Nice, automatic stroke from outside and some surprising (to me) quick moves underneath as well as a hook shot in his arsenal.

With his red-shirt of development and playing against the likes of Paul and Whittington, he should be much more seasoned.

It's gonna be crowded in the front court next year.

Shayne
Paul
Tava
Avery
McCormick

That's why I'd like to see if Tava can play the SF spot.

The more I look at that group...the more I am convinced that we could after a PG in the 2014 class if a big man doesn't work out.

We've got haymond coming in at 6'6" that can probably play the 4 spot if needed. Not desirable...but I bet he could do it.

As I said before, discounting injuries the starting 5 next year will be:

Paul
Tava
Shayne
Brown
Klein / Ritchie

Agreed, assuming Brown is healthy. Otherwise I'd guess Perry or Haymond in that spot.

Gives us interesting options. Can play a "small" lineup with Tava at the four and slip in another shooter somewhere, or this bigger lineup with Tava at the three. Interested to see how McCormick fits in all this.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Svete start as a freshman too.

RE: Kellen McCormick will be a nice addition
I like that Kellen both jumps and shots with the ball above his head.

Contrast Pokes shot that is more like a set shot than a jump shot, and while he is accurate given some space, he can't get the shot off if contested be cause it is not a jump shot and comes from chest or face level.

With his height and true jump shot released above the head level, Kellen's shot is much harder to contest. Also notice in the video Kellen is very comfortable moving sideways to create space still shooting in rhythm.

I suspect he got good fundamental instruction early on. Plus the eye-hand coordination obviously coming from a first class gene pool.

You betcha! It has some good possibilities. Nice to have options. We'll still need backup at the 5.

Workman played both in and out. Shot blocker who played with physicality inside.

At this time, Kellen is more like Derek Drews from a skill set. In time, he will get stronger, quicker and hopefully developing game condition ball handling.
In years 3, 4 and 5 he should pay big dividends.
