"Woodside's" does have kind of a homey feel to it but "Julian's" sounds very upscale. I don't think we can go wrong.

RE: Football Commit
If there's a negative about Woodside, it would be that he played in a small school division and his primary receiver, Ryan Timmons, has offers from schools like Florida and Ohio State.

My understanding is that he did have interest from BCS schools but as it happens for a lot of kids, especially QBs, the spots fill up quick and then it is hard to get back on board with the bigger schools unless kids start decommiting causing some openings. Western Kentucky wanted him badly but he stuck with UT and if Bobby Petrino wants a kid I would guess he knows a thing or two about quality QBs.

ESPN has Julian as a 3 star recruit, #11 player in the state and the nation's #39 QB. They tout his accuracy and arm strength as his best assets. Woodside is considered to be a very good game manager with a strong short to medium passing game and the ability to scramble.

Let's see...so between the 2, we have size, decent speed, allusiveness, accuracy, arm strengh mixed in with a good short game, and football smarts? Good enough for me!!!02-13-banana02-13-banana02-13-banana

I guess that needs to clarify a couple of things with UT staff first before commitment is accepted

Looking forward to some more commits with offer resumes' like Julian's.

A star studded FS would make my day.

6'2 180 lbs 3 or 4 star(depending on the service) commit Delando Johnson out of Maryland isn't good enough?

I don't know. I saw him listed at 6-1 on paper, thus assumed he's probably under 6-0 on grass. I'd like to see us get a little more height at FS myself. I had been thinking Whittaker might get the spot but there doesn't seem to be any info on his speed. All I've seen was a 5.03 which, if accurate, would not be a great fit for FS. I'm really concerned about that position as that guy is often the last line of defense.

In our soft defensive scheme it is the first and last line of defense.

RE: Football Commit
An improved defense in 2013 is expected and required , bottom line.
Envision a QB running an option, with all receivers covered ,and time running out, either being run out of bounds with a 2 yard gain, again, or throwing the ball away.
That is the key to our season, and what we lacked the last two.

This is the year of truth for recruiting. Those previous recruiting classes will be on the field. If they can step up, that will secure faith that Toledo will be good for more years to come.
