As for the people saying MTSU and FAU "burned their bridge" get a clue. CUSA isn't the greatest conference but they could still pickoff any Sun Belt team in a second if they chose to do so.

And for the WKU alum who likes both FSU/Miami (which ruins his credibility already in fandom), you guys very well could be next if a team or more leaves CUSA. So be careful how you disparage the conference that you could be in very soon.
You know you don't have to read this board, don't you? CUSA has one of their own.

I like to read about the conference my school is in. Although there isn't any real news coming here. Mostly just morons acting like their school is way better while putting down those that leave. At least I know that all of the Sun Belt schools are not well thought of. We are all in the same boat. The big 5 are all that matters.

ECU is gone. Regionally it matters but otherwise it won't impact your attendance. When we played Louisville, USM and SMU at home our attendance was good but not any better than big conference games. When we play Memphis or UCA our attendance is through the roof.

Honestly, outside of Memphis and UCA who are right down the road from ASU no teams really impact attendance that significantly. The only things that hav impacted attendance are tailgating for early season games and more importantly... winning. When we drew 30K for ULM on a weeknight it wasn't because people were dying to see ULM.

No one was putting down FAU until you started running your mouth, acting like FAU is superior to the belt. Your record the past few seasons begs to differ.

Point me out where I said that FAU was superior to anyone in the Belt. But then again this is coming from the "fan" of both Miami and FSU. Please child.....

I have said that all SUn Belt schools are on the same level and are not thought of well nationally in many of posts on here. Can't comprehend how certain posters think their school is so great compared to the others in this conference.

Didn't FAU beat WKU on their homefield last year despite that bad record? Like I said, these are very similar schools.

RE: CUSA plans for 14 team schedule.
I have no hard feelings against either MT or FAU or UNT or FIU for that matter.

Those teams sought an opportunity to better themselves. They have gone to a conference where I would rather be in a second.

And, that's not a slight to any of the institutions in the Sunbelt. But, just a desire for the Cajuns to move up perception-wise.

MT was a unbelievably strong member of the league. I always felt that stAte, the Cajuns, WKU, and MT anchored the league. Because, I have memories of the most competition against those schools. And, USA for baseball and basketball.

Anyone bitching about you leaving is sour grapes. Period.

UAB brought more fans in one year combined than Troy has ever brought for hoops. Makes for a good atmosphere. Same for Marshall.

Our home football attendance will increase big-time. Wait and see.

The local fans here are fired up.

I do think the newness will wear off in a couple of years, and we'll have to keep winning.

Wow...I guess its the difference in the fanbases., ASU fans really could care less about the teams in CUSA. No one very interesting to play.

I dont see any increase for TROY if we went to CUSA. Only game that I could see a lot more fans would be USM. but that would be probably less than we would get for USA. And we already play UAB every year. And I can assure you UAB brings maybe 500 fans lol

More UAB fans will go to MTSU than go to Troy because of Nashville.

Marshall, UTEP, Rice, Tulsa still more desirable to most MT fans in terms of name recognition and prestige. Even if that weren't true we will have a better shot at a bowl game and won't be stuck in a league with upcoming FCS teams. Still a better place to be any way you slice it.

And I already mentioned that is what made you guys different then us. None of those teams would increase ASU's attendance, as none of our casual fans really know anything about them. Likewise, while those same casual fans dont really care for playing the SBC teams we do, they do at least have some familiarity with ULL and ULM and the likes.

I just dont see how any casual fan could tell the difference between an ASU and a UTEP. Maybe a lifelong football fan would know the difference, but a casual fan couldnt tell you anything about either school, except one was in Arkansas, and the other Texas.

Wont be stuck in a league with new FCS teams? UTSA, Charlotte, Old Dominion? Do they not count?

Well it's half and half. UNCC, ODU, and UTSA are all FCS start ups. There are some good teams in CUSA, like the SBC. I believe the top half of each conference would be competitive games but CUSA has a better perceived name with some teams that are consistently good.

Which teams are consistently good? Tulsa? UTEP stinks, Rice made its first bowl in a bazillion years this year, UAB cant afford a stadium because Alabama said no, Southern Miss set a loss record that only Memphis could be proud of, La Neck finally put up an average year after Fresno, Nevada, and Boise all left.

RE: CUSA plans for 14 team schedule.
Since 2003, Tulsa has gone:
8-5
4-8
9-4
8-5
10-4
11-3
5-7
10-3
8-5
11-3
Southern Miss has gone:
9-4
7-5
7-5
9-4
7-6
7-6
7-6
8-5
11-2
0-12

Southern Miss went to 14 straight bowl games. That's a helluva lot better than any Sun Belt team. So these teams have been consistently good. Also Rice went to bowl games in 2006 and 2008, which is a little less than a bazillion years ago. So they have been to as many bowl games as Astate, that I can recall, with 3 each.

Interesting. I was well aware of USM's consistency. Not as aware of Tulsa's consistency. They need to up their PR.
