Also, I am pleasantly surprised to see how well FIU is doing so far. We are riding a four game winning streak and have won as many games as we did all last year under Thomas. Pitino seems to be a heck of a coach. I hope we can hold onto him for a while.

I think ya'll got a good one in Pitino. As a WKU fan, I have great disdain for his father but I don't judge Jr because of the sins of his father.

I was impressed with what I saw from FIU in the game with WKU. Definite sleeper team for this year.

Agreed. To win in Jonesboro is no easy feat, and you blew them out in Miami.

Not looking forward to the Florida trip.

I'm very pleased we're this high. If unt was having their normal season it'd be even better.

Glad we don't have a couple of 330+ RPI's.

No doubt. You guys are obviously carrying us right now but you're correct. We don't have those abysmal ones dragging us further down. Hella improvement from the last few years.

I'd like to apologize for the Cajuns. For say, almost the last decade.

I don't think I've ever seen a team perform this poorly after so much preseason hype (in any sport) like UNT has. They went from preseason favorite to last place in the Sun Belt.

I still think they could be dangerous in the Sun Belt tournament.....does every team get to play in the tournament?

Yeah, though I think all the remaining conference members should make it where departing teams are ineligible ala the CAA...it would make the tournament much more fun to watch. 01-lauramac2

Yes, but I don't see much hope for UNT to be dangerous in Hot Springs unless something doesn't change shortly.

This doesn't mean I'm not holding on to what little hope there is left, but this year has been a catastrophe thus far. Everything that could go wrong, is, and it's nothing but our own doing. It's not bad luck.

I just hope we don't get paired with ASU in the tourney again.

The only real chance of a late-season run is if Benford does get dismissed and Rob Evans takes over as interim. Firing a HC during their 1st season is almost unheard of, but this might be one case where it's warranted. NT was not a rebuilding situation. RV has had some good hires, but when he misses it's spectacularly ugly.

That would be great for us. It would probably help us get an at large because we wouldn't have those extra SBC games dragging our rpi down. Plus we might be able to keep our units for ourselves. Not gonna happen but it is cool to think about.
