MT has 3 winning seasons out of the last 11 seasons. WKU is in it's 4th year of FBS and has 2 winning seasons.

Let's see, bud.

You insulted Bowling Green, Jonesboro, and Troy. And indirectly insulted the Louisiana teams, as well.

Arkansas State has won two straight SBC titles and is playing #25 Kent State and has a chance to be ranked. Yet they have less potential than MTSU?

WKU has gone from an 0-12 team to a 7-5 that contended most of the season for the SBC title and went to their first bowl game only four years since transitioning into FBS. Yet they have less potential than MTSU?

I am not aware of the major accomplishments of Troy, because I haven't kept much up on them. But I'm sure someone can fill this in. Does MTSU have more potential than them?

Both Louisiana teams had winning seasons and both attended bowl games this year. ULL even won theirs. They almost always seem to be at the top or middle of the conference. Does MTSU have more potential than them?

Before trashing the other schools in your conference because you think you're off to the glorified land of further mediocrity (See SBC vs C-USA record this year), you may want to take a minute to think about how stupid you sound. And again, please read a dictionary.

Not really upset jefe. I was just stunned that nobody was there when they were playing the fighting tony Mitchells. The fan base that had declared themselves the dominant program in the Sunbelt after one choketastic (lol) season.

I get that students are out. They are out here too yet we had a legit 4,774 Saturday night. I could see how new years eve could effect it if the game started at 10:00 but it started at 7:00. Giving any real fans the opportunity to do both.

I haven't seen any ASU fans laying claims to being UK of the Sunbelt like the middle fans. There couldn't have been 1,500 at best regardless of box score attendance.

Btw, I've already counted our game in Jboro as a loss. You're playing well of late and always play us well. I'm just hoping we can get the split in Little Rock.

I don't believe one school could honestly say they would of done better today. Our crowd might of embarrassed on national TV but we did beat the conference preseason player of the year and made UNT look really bad. Y'all are a bunch of delusional ***** that are mad because your shithole of a town I.e. bowling green, Troy, Jonesboro, ect will get you nowhere while us schools with actual potential are moving UP. Enjoy the belt and happy new year you filthey animals.

May wanna set one of your New Years Resolutions to be "Read the Dictionary". Gotta brush up on that spelling there, champ.

And your school with potential? Hate to bring it up. But no bowl game the last two years. Not sure about before. And you'll be choketastic in the SBC Basketball tourney.

Apparently, he doesn't "of" one .

I would have to choose one or the other.

Everyone now charges a 5000% markup on New Year's Eve parties because they make them "all-inclusive." I'm not showing up at 11 p.m. having missed most of my drink and food and yet still had to pay the same price.

I'm one of the die-hards and there's no way I go to that game even if I live across the street from Murphy Center. You all are too hung up on attendance. It's the freaking Sun Belt. No one in Murfreesboro cares about the fighting Tony Mitchells.

Even a D-2 school can do that.

Troy built a perfect building for Sun Belt basketball, only holds around 5k people.

probably the same reason uta went with 7000 on their new arena..nearly 80 million dollars..could have gone with more seats but went with more amenities. better than having a lot of empties.

Talking attendance in the middle of the Holiday season is crazy. Flipping through channels last night, I saw the Tex Tech Red Raiders playing at home against some no name team, and there was hardly anyone in the stands. Box score shows 5404 in attendance but that number is super overinflated. Worse than MUTS last night.

I was at the game last night. Crowd was light at the opening tip, but filled in more shortly after the game started. I would estimate the crowd at 2100-2300 butts in seats.

You guys are crazy if you think New Years Eve didn't have anything to do with this. Every single Middle fan on any Middle message board knew this would be a disappointment from the day our schedule was released. No one shows up to New Years Eve events at 10:00. It's an all evening/night affair and you all know it. Hell, I even missed the game last night. But nitpick all you want. It's not like anyone was watching ESPNU last night anyway outside of the Sun Belt fanbase.

This wasn't really a disappointment. If we don't put at least 8k in the stands for WKU then I'll be disappointed. As long as we win the attendance is gravy.

i'm as happy as they come. but you middle fans have been thumping your chest as the bell cow of this conference in hoops because dendy led you to the almost promised land. and i love busting middle chops.

and i guarantee there would have been more fans in bowling green for that game.

my question to all you middle fans is what would the attendance have been for a ladies game?

p.s. why didn't you even consider taking your family to that game? serious question. if it was christmas eve i get it.

LMAO!. Yet another completely fabricated post in this thread.
The irony to this is when it comes to basketball there are no bigger chest thumpers than Western fans. Even with bad seasons like the last couple Goat Toppers act like they are God's gift to the basketball world. I realize we had a good team last season and a good team this season but we haven't yet and likely never will act like Western fans. What a joke. But thanks for the laugh.

Fact remains, that across the board, MT has the best attendance in the Sun Belt (most money gained by ticket sales across all sports).

Because, for me, basketball is way down on a list of things to do when bringing in the New Year. I spend time with family and friends before life goes back to the hectic pace of post holiday.

I also try to stay off the roads on New Years Eve after 6 pm in Nashville. I live about 50 minutes away from the boro.

My wife is a trooper. I drag her all across God's creation to go to MT events, but there are certain night when she gets to call the shots. NYE is one of those especially when we're talking about mid-season SBC game in which we're good a double digit favorite. Plus it was in TV which meant I could watch from the party and everybody wins. I dont start the new year by disappointing my wife. I save that for the rest of the year...
