It's hard to tell what the story is with redshirts (or lack thereof) in this program because the policy is that both sides have to agree to it. Who knows which players may have been offered the redshirt?

I don't know how a coach sells the idea of redshirting to a kid that wants to play, but the best current example I see is Shayne Whittington. From speaking with his parents, I know he did not want to redshirt, but looking at it now, it was obviously the best move. He has developed into just what we need at center, and he now has 2 full years left. (counting this year, of course)
