Defensive Coordinator John Thompson has been named interim HC at ASU and will coach the team in the Bowl Game. After careful consderation (or lets just say a large fan and player backlash) ASU's administration determined Malzahn needed to spend quality time with people at Auburn.

All Assistants will remain on through the bowl as of right now. Thompson will not go to Auburn...that much we know.

Well sorry guys you just lost the bowl game. Hopefully you don't kick off at the beginning of the game and after half.

We actually did that once in the 80's. won the game for us. Played Lamar in a driving rain. Setup a short punt in the second half that gave us field position for the winning score.

Thompson did it in perfect weather in a game that we of course lost, because he was the coach and that's all we did while he was here.

Thompson has become pretty popular in Jonesboro lately, and is almost certain to get an interview for the HC job. I think our fans just want him to stay as DC

He's got a very good track record as a DC, and he's a very likable guy. I would hope however that potential HC interview would only be a courtesy. He would however give a power point presentation that would knock your socks off.
