What!! This is news. You are telling us that boosters control athletic departments and use money as leverage. And you used Alabama as a reference point, making the point much more succinctly. Thank you. This changes every thing. We need to get some of these boosters.

You can be very certain that UAB is trying to do just that. Recruiting boosters is not that much different from recruiting players. The more money they have, the more schools go after them.

Not really the reaction I expected:

"The guy's coached one year at Arkansas State.

In a program that was running pretty good when he got there.

Seven years ago, he was the head coach of an Arkansas high school team.

That's a body of work shaped more like an Olsen twin than a Kardashian." 03-lmfao

"See, this is the issue I had with the Gene Chizik hire four years ago. It wasn't just that you skipped over a more qualified black candidate at the time.

It was that you skipped over all qualified candidates to get to one who wasn't.

And you've just done it again."

I don't understand why the race card had to be used here. I'm assuming he was talking about Turner Gill. A lot of teams had concerns about him, and it appears a lot of those teams were right. I'm also not quite sure who all these qualified candidates were that these folks write about. Taking a swing at Jon Gruden is a good decision according to this *******. Hell, why the heck weren't they talking to Tony Dungy, Bill Parcells, and Bill Belichick while they're at it? Maybe Bill Cowher and Mike Tomlin next? After that, there are at least 10 decent NFL coaches they could have went after. And if that didn't work out, they could have at least hired Saban away from Bama. What a stupid article.

I'm guessing the WKU player in the top left.

When will it reach "critical mass" and explode?

With Pitino involved? About 15 seconds:
