Does not matter, the NCAA wants 8 for a conference. You do not know if they will allow you time to recoup the number under 8. The push should be for football only NMSU and Idaho if they are willing to board the Titanic part II. I mean they must still have wet clothes from the WAC.

The NCAA allowed the WAC a grace period to recoup losses but they eventually lost too much. I'm sure that if more schools are added to the pipeline as others leave the NCAA will have the same response.
The real issue is if the FBS schools want to seal off moveups. For years one of the the things the BCS football powers said was they would never support playoff because they didn't want to become like NCAA basketball and share the money with everyone, causing D1 basketball to have a population explosion. I could see, with the football playoff approaching, the big conferences make a move to shut off entry into FBS.

Then they should be pressuring CUSA to just merge with the Belt. That would stop the FCS moveups.

Yeah but if CUSA fans are a true indication a CUSA/Sun Belt merger will never happen.
They claim they can just continually take what helps them best without taking schools that would not help them.
Who knows though.

Are they waiting for Georgia Southern to lose in the playoffs before they make their decision? What happens if they don't lose and go on to win the National Championship again?

Who are they? Then NCAA does not control the first thing about conferences. They control the rules of level competition and little else in football. So again who are the they? Each conference does what it thinks is in their best interest. Conferences are made up of individual members that may or may not be there next year. So who are the they's?

CUSA will probably lose two western schools. Texas State, and ULL each have a shot as replacements for CUSA-West, but NM St is rumored to be the favorite for one spot. Will be interesting to watch how this unfolds. Will UTSA want to block Tx St? Will Tech and/or USM want to block ULL. I doubt that either of UTSA or Tech has the stroke to block anybody yet, but USM can probably make happen whatever they want to happen.

Georgia State and South Alabama need on campus stadiums. They aren't UCLA.

As of last week, Reneau and Davison are on record with Dr. Savoie in supporting UL for CUSA membership. No rumors on that speculation.

Really?....so, where on our campus should we put a stadium?

Love the lack of awareness of those who say we should have an on-campus stadium.

Here is our campus, outlined in red, and the Dome can be seen in the picture as well - there is nowhere to put a stadium closer to campus:

Our stadium is actually closer to central campus than most SEC and ACC schools.

good line up of schools..

Yes it is, and getting all worked up to add more without careful consideration would be disastrous. I believe most SBC fans would certainly be satisfied with the addition of Georgia Southern, Appalachian State and possibly NMSU, but it's being reported the the Aggies are hoping for a MWC invitation. After that pickings get lean.

I didn't know that the Dome was that close to the Georgia State campus. I thought is was on the other side of town.

I would like to see Georgia Southern and Appalachian State join the conference. It would strengthen the conference on the football side.

Some Cajun fans who post here are seriously connected and tuned into the university. Also that statement was not made public, just a promise between ULS presidents.
