Now Saban doesn't think the BCS if fair
http://espn.go.com/college-football/stor...let-switch
Little Nicky Saban doesn't think that it is fair that Florida will likely play in the Sugar Bowl instead of the loser of the SEC Championship.
"It's not really a great scenario," Saban said. "You play your way into the (SEC) championship game, which means you're the best team in your division. ... It doesn't seem quite right, but it is what it is. I don't really know what me commenting about it is going to do to change it. But I don't feel good about it."
Funny, he didn't have a problem with a team that couldn't win its division last year playing for the National Championship!!

I think the real intent of the response was more pointed at the idea that only 2 teams from any conference can be in the BCS games. When it should be the best however many teams should be in to create the best match-ups. I don't think it was meant as a "We deserve it over UF" comment.
Do you think Ga Tech deserves a BCS game if they beat FSU this weekend???

i think its absolutely fair. ill take it a step further and say if you don't win your conference you shouldn't be in a BCS game or playoff bracket. people say that every week counts and every body gets a chance. well ya did, and ya lost suck it up and go home.
i mean translate it to the NFL. if the NFL was like college football the Giants or the Packers wouldn't be Super Bowl champs.

I'm gonna have to dissagree with ya on this one. I want to see the best two teams in the Champ game, I don't care what conference they are from. I don't want to see a 7-6 Ga Tech team in the BCS, they don't deserve it. They are only in due to other teams being on probation. I'm just using them as an example.
If you only want the conference champ to be eligible you turn football into what basketball has become. A worthless season and the only thing that matters is if you win your conference tourny.

The Ga Tech scenario is exactly why we have the "at large" bid. Also, the situation in the SEC is why they had a 2 team limit. Could you imagine the wailing that would have been going on with 3 SEC teams in BCS games the last 2 years or so and the money that would have flowed into SEC cofers?
The BCS was just another way for the big 6 (now 5) conferences to keep the lion's share of the bowl money. Same way with the bowls...the bigger conferences have locked up so many spots and get their 6 win teams in and us "have nots" wait and hope.

except there isn't a conference tournament in football. and if your not a good team, your not gonna win your conference. if there is a better team in your conference, then they will beat you. simple as that. and if they are going to let more than two team from 1 conference in the the BCS bowls, we might as well cancel them and just watch the SEC championship game, because all the teams will be from the SEC.

Let me finish this for ya:
Oh wait you've been there before and you had the good sense to return to CFB and become the highest paid coach in the history of the sport. Come to think about no one likes you 'cause you're just too successful. Oh, and Coach, how do like "Johnny Football"?

RE: Now Saban doesn't think the BCS if fair
I actually agree with him. The loser of the SECCG should go to the Sugar Bowl, especially when Bama likely wins Georgia gets relegated to Capital One or something like that, when Florida, who they beat, goes to the Sugar Bowl. Under the current system, if you aren't the going to win the SEC title game, it's actually advantageous to go 11-1 and finish 2nd in your division, as you're pretty much guaranteed a BCS bowl and have a shot at backing in to the title game.
I will also go on record as saying if the two best teams in the country are in the same conference or even the same division, that's who I want to see play for the crystal football. Alabama didn't win their conference last year, but they were clearly the best team in the country. I don't care who won what conference, if there is a better team out there that didn't win their conference that's who I want to see.

I can not say that I totally disagree with him, but wanted to post a"humorous response". I do agree with every word in the 2nd graph of your response.
