RE: JP REVOLUTION!
If Greer's the guy next year, expect a learning curve for him, too. He'll have never played college ball, and football of any kind in over a year.
A team that can play D and pound the rock will make a young QB's life a lot easier. We spent a lot of the year not doing either, and it was hard on both JP AND Brown.

RE: JP REVOLUTION!
Both QB's had their good moments & bad moments.
Maybe some hard work in the off season by the whole team will pay dividends.

RE: JP REVOLUTION!
Nothing personal against Austin Brown, he's been a real trooper, but if Jonathan Perry's not the starter for 2013, something's terribly wrong here.

We gettin' em from Texas now? Damn, I didn't know that. Hypothetical for you, "Frenchy"..If you were JP, would you come back next year or transfer?

RE: JP REVOLUTION!
Not sure that will be the case. Dif you guys see any practice this year. Greer has a long wzy to go. They wouldn't even let him run scout team because he couldn't give the D a good look. The two guys you saw playing this year will be your guys if JP comes back? It may be Austin's job by default... But who knows. That's why the coaches get paid, I agree we just need better Defense and things will be fine.

I don't disagree. Greer looked talented, but pretty lost in the spring. I think he'll be fine, but I wouldn't shocked if he didn't sniff the field next year.

RE: JP REVOLUTION!
It’ll be Austin’s to lose. Remember, he got hurt in the 2nd quarter of the SELA game so he played, what, 7 games at less than a 100%.

JP wont be here next. At least I don't think so, JMO. I hugged him after the game and said no matter what he decides to do, I was proud of what he had done here and wish him the best. He said "thanks". He's a good kid but I think the rift between him and McGee is too large for both of them.

RE: JP REVOLUTION!
It was bad enough having 2 guys fight over the top spot, imagine if we had 3 truly fighting for the position.

RE: JP REVOLUTION!
JP had more passing yards against UCF than any other team this year.
1) JP - 307
2t) East Carolina - 298
2t) Marshall - 298
And that doesn't include AB's 203 passing yards.

He looked impressive in that game without a doubt.
Not sure what was missing earlier in the season though.
A lot of missed passes earlier.

I thought about this. I wondered during the game if his insertion into the game was McGee's way of saying, I want you to come back and compete next year. Before the UCF game, I thought JP was 100% gone. Now, I think he is still likely gone, but I wonder if McGee will encourage him to stay.

Why would he do that though? String the kid along just to keep him from going anywhere else.
Like what was mentioned before, I think the rift may be too big to stay. but I'm not in the locker room or on the field so I can't call it. But, maybe putting JP in was a message to someone, but who.

Had he not played, it would be a definite message.
Since he did, no idea what it means outside of the fact that JP can be really great at times.

I know, right?
I think after everything we witnessed over the last few games, McGee kinda undermined his own message to both AB and JP and confused the hell outta the rest of us.
But, its his program, his call.
We'll see this spring, won't we?

I don’t pretend to know JP’s financial situation but I’m not sure he can afford to transfer and McGee probably know this. Even if you are on a scholarship it takes a certain amount of resources to pull it off and a supportive family certainly doesn’t hurt either. Plus, with him being a senior he’ll have to find the ideal situation – just because you transfer doesn’t mean you’ll play.
JP played well when called upon this year and it’s not fair to compare AB to JP because of AB’s injuries - AB was more productive this year compared to JP last year, so McGee is thinking long term and this is where rubber hits the road, so to speak.
When both QB’s are healthy they are equal in ability.
