If you care about the new TV contract for the Big East, then you need to care about Navy, whether you think that they're good on the field of play or not.

Nail meet hammer. Anyone who ISN'T concerned right now, either has his head in the sand, or is simply on drugs.

I know Chet personally from when he was AD at UH...just remind him he can come back to Houston and see the palm trees he planted if they join.

If Navy leaves and opens a spot for ECU or UMass*, I wouldn't really mind a bit.

*I'm basically a homer for them when it comes to expansion, because they'd make losing UConn a lot less painful on the personal travel front.

Lol at the thought that the Big East is going to raid ACC leftovers.

I don't care about it that much. It's gonna drop way below the ACC now, and still be way above the midgets. At this point, I just want a stable conference, with teams I want to play. I can get into almost everybody in the nBE, except Navy. And I'm a Navy vet, but enlisted guys don't give a damn about a few top officers' alma mater. 03-wink

And when Army was in C-USA, I REALLY didn't care about them. And they didn't help that conference one bit. I think sometimes we realignment junkies draw too fine a line on this stuff.

^ Word.

Navy's way better than Army, but service academies are such unwieldy entities to deal with and ECU's honestly a far more compelling football school to me as a fan.
