RE: Georgia State's latest promotion
This reminds me of the Great Thanksgiving Turkey Drop promotion brought to you by the crack staff at WKRP Radio in Cincinnati!

Live remote reporter Les Nessman: "They're busting open like bags of wet cement! Oh, the humanity!"

Station owner Mr. Carlson: "As God is my witness, I thought Turkeys could fly!"

Funniest thing I've ever seen on network TV! Could this be a repeat at the Georgia Dome?

I'm all about the discussion, but it seems like any time that GSU is brought up, it triggers talk about the other two programs... No disrespect meant to the Appy and GaSo fans, just think it's not necessary to have the same argument on several different threads. Still want you guys though!!

Exactly. These tools are outsiders and are ripping on one of our members...it just makes them look small time and butt hurt...and obsessed. If you want to rip on Georgia State do it on your own board.

So I guess you think money drops are a good idea at college football games and you would be supportive if MTSU did the same?

You just can't make the stuff up.

They need to have a preperation h giveaway in Boone and Statesboro with all the butthurt going on in those two towns.

May need some in Murfreesboro as well for all that no CUSA bid buthurt. I think you may have App and Ga Southern beat there given the grilling the MTSU President took.

Not a chance. We're still FBS and the conference we currently we play in is having a much better season than the conference that didn't invite us.

You are still stuck in FCS trying like hell to get to FBS. Nice try though.

Fair enough. That was an interesting article by Adam Sparks about how upset the fans were at the President for not getting a CUSA bid over ODU, UTSA, La Tech. Could work out better in the end though despite what the fans wanted.

For one thing we're not having attendance struggles, but if we were I'd be open to any ideas. And while this promotion sounds a little crazy $10k for a promotion is chump change. We spent waaaaaaay more than that to bring Big Boi in for a postgame concert back in like 2005. It didn't really help that much with attendance the concert was a flop and it left a sour taste in a lot of folks mouths. This is cheap and the students will leave with something actually concrete and something most college students complain about never having. Will it help them long term? I doubt it, but outside of someone getting hurt, it does no harm to them either.

It may have indeed been a blessing in disguise, but honestly I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the C-USA invite come down later this year or in the spring. I don't know whether or not we accept, but it would probably be helpful to your cause if we did.

Missing my point. You mentioned us having butthurt about Ga State moving up and we haven't. I am only saying that I am not jealous of anyone making the move up if it means my program is in dissaray like theirs. I would prefer to stay at FCS is that is the case.

Has nothing to do with playing them each year. I think all Georgia Southern fans would love that!!!

You sure have a funny way of showing a lack of butt hurt by showing up here every time there is negative press about State.

Georgia Southern would not be having these same issues in the stands and Georgia State would regardless of what level they were playing at. It will take some time, but the Panthers will be fine.

Yes, that is correct. And only they can start the threads like they did on this one. It is in the forum rules. You need to read them closer.

It is absolutely no different than me coming to your board and saying things about your team. The fans of the home team(or teams as is the case here)will get more leeway and that will happen on any board. No different than people picking on their own brother but standing up to bullies picking on them.

If you don't like it you can GTFO. Seriously.

No Problem. Understand.

Interesting that the owners of csnbbs.com allow the board modertors they have entrusted and appointed as stewards of their company telling people to GTFO. I don't have a problem at all with it but find it refreshing that a company in 2012 can ignore political correctness! Thank you MTPiKapp for bucking the PC trend! You go csnbbs.com! I am putting in an application tomorrow at their corporate headquarters. I cant wait to tell my first employee to GTFO of my office when they screw up!
