On Behalf of FIU...
First, congrats stAte. You played a solid game and totally deserved the W. Good luck to your program in the future. I hope the few stAte fans attended the game had a good time in Miami.
Second, my apologies go out to the Sun Belt and C-USA. It is really sad what this year has become. We have the curse of the South Florida fan multiplied by a very young franchise with an extremely limited fan base. I have no idea why my fellow students cannot show up for games. There was definitely more students tailgating at kickoff than those that went to the game. I am just beside myself. I won't even get into the play of the 1-5 football team.
I have no idea why not even 10% of the 50k that go to FIU cannot go to the game. But after witnessing what I just did, it is hard to blame them. It is very embarrassing to have your program shown on national TV with probably about 5-7k in attendance.
So again, make fun of FIU all you wish. I guess we deserve it. Our attendance will follow the same patterns as UM. It's just the way it is down here in S FL.
Goodnight.

FIU sucks this year. It's easy to see why things are the way they are. FIU will be good in time in C-USA, replacing UCF in 5-10 years.

This post is a great example of why the majority of this board hates UNT, but not so much FIU. The Mean Green fans make excuses and cling to their ego, while Panther fans admit their team isn't meeting expectations and are humble about that fact.

Mario Cristobal had the opportunity to leave but didn't, so I commend that. But, now I just feel sorry for him. He has done a great job with that program and the fans do not appreciate it. That game tonight looked so bad on tv. It was so quiet I could here Malzahn yelling while we were on offense.
I hate to say it, but I'm glad they are leaving the conference. I don't care about markets. I want schools that have fan support.

That's a cryin damn shame. It really looks like there some deep seeded hatred for a team that is leaving and hasn't done much in football for a while. It certainly can't be because of a couple troll fans. There has to be something else, right?

THIS. Are you sure you don't want to take them back? Maybe each conference can make some trades?
In all seriousness, the way CUSA chose to expand is sickening. I wish we could go Independent.

You are telling me. I cannot believe they would be invited back to the sun belt after this year if they hadn't gotten the CUSA invite.
There's about 6 teams from the Sun Belt I would have thought to be above them. stAte certainly being one. MTSU, WKU, UL, Troy - I just don't get it.

The SBC also added a market by adding Georgia State. The jury is still out on them. I don't mind the Texas St add. Still hope we invite GA Southern and App St.

I have serious concerns whether or not FIU will be able to maintain a D1 football program. Even in some of our worst years, ASU still easily outdrew tonight. Its not like FIU is on the way down either, until this year, they were a program on the rise. 50,000 students and they cant get 4000 people to a football game...

Why can't you understand TROY. We have had success throughout NAIA, DIV II, DIV I-AA, and FBS. We have just made the right choices through out the years. How many years have we had down years in football? Maybe 1 in Div I-AA, and a couple in FBS? The point is there is nothing, "TO NOT GET", in this statement. We have and will always have a good program and we may have another bad season this year or in the future, but one thing is for sure, we will bounce back.....COUNT ON IT!
MARCH ON TROY!!!!

I think you aren't getting periods and commas. The guy was paying Troy a compliment. You are in the list of teams he thought was better.

RE: On Behalf of FIU...
Obviously even with 50,000 students FIU doesn't have that much interest in football. Not disrespecting in any way, but is there a large Hispanic enrollment that follows soccer much more than football?
Has Mario Cristobal been the catalyst in their rise the last couple of years or was it just circumstance with certain players or coaches that they lost? I know he is a local guy and they had what seemed to be a great recruiting year; seems strange that they are playing so awful this year then. I watched the game and aSu controlled it much more than the final score indicated. Going to be interesting to see if they can win any more games this year, which is a huge turn around from what fans expected.
