GSU fans have been worrying me lately. The football team looks awful, fans arent showing up, and those that do are parctically begging for Houston Nutt to come coach the team.

I guess they forget that Nutt has personally destroyed the last 2 programs he was a part of.

bless them for they know not what they nutt.

the name nutt is derived from the Gaelic 'nutehoiyse' which is common in the ozarks and defined a clan of warriors from the scottish highlands that were neither fierce now cowardly. they were described by the Irish poet Sean McDonough as 'meh'

The point of us mentioning Nutt is to keep the pressure on our apathetic AD. Left to her own devices she will hire a HS coach and call it a day. We have been trying to reassure the disaffected. Bottom line, 0-3 or not we still play in the Dome, still have a new practice facility and still will have 28 Srs next year. We will be fine.

Get one of the top FCS coaches, not a washed up FBS LOOSER.

There are some High School coaches who could do better then Nutt. He'll leave your program worse then it was when he got there.

Andy Mccollum...Oooookay. I wont argue, because its for sure wins for a few season. That dude ran himself out of MT with arguably the most talent in the belt.

Honest question. Do you guys think it makes any difference to recruits that Ga State plays in the dome? I don't think it does. I think they would be far better served to have a 20k seat, nice, new stadium that is somewhat full rather than a 65k seat stadium that is mostly empty.

A 20k nice new stadium in FBS.

Or we could just walk them 2 blocks down the street to the Ga Dome on their OV and show them our locker room. To answer your question the Dome and our practice facility are recruiting assets. Many stories of us getting in front of players we had no business getting because of facilities.

My point is the job will attract attention from some former FBS coach or some current Big 5 OC or DC. We have no reason to settle for the 1st resume that comes accross our AD's desk. I do not expect any less than the standard the SBC and CUSA have set in hiring in the last offseason.

NFL is the dream to these kids. Playing in an NFL stadium plays to that dream. 40 year old men buy signed footballs from NFL players so is that far fetched that using an NFL locker room is appealing to an 18 year old kid?

As far as Andy McCollum goes... I think he gives you a ceiling. I can think of some retread coaches that have had some solid second careers but do many of them really ever exceed expectations?

I would go for an up and comer assistant or a successful coach from a lower division.
