Better than Hot Springs by a country mile.

If they act like they want it and make a good bid I don't care.

Not so enamored with moving the league office. Not sure what benefit that is supposed to bring.

Me either. Intown real estate here is more expensive than any city in the SBC footprint by a mile. I do see where the airport would be beneficence as well hotel space and multiple venues for Olympic Sports.

I guess the benefit is that it moves the headquarters to a city where we actually have a participating member. Other than that, I cannot see a benefit, unless we are working a deal to have Turner Broadcasting buy our media contract from ESPN (highly, highly doubt that is the case).

On top of which since one of our bowls is in New Orleans I would hesitate to pull the office out of there unless its just too much of a PITA.

I do think moving the basketball Tourney to Atlanta is a good idea. I know Hot Sprins has been a good host but I think Atlanta is more accesable and more of a destination.

Better travel arrangements for the Head Office.

Better destination and hotels for the fan base.

Either Atlanta or New Orleans.

Oh comeon...outside of a 2 million population difference, sights to see, a large media presence, large airport, and general appeal there is no difference between Atlanta and Hot Springs.

Though I will gladly take the tournament in Hot Springs as long as possible because of the easy drive. I aint driving to Atlanta for a basketball tournament unless ASU is in the NCAA's...

Why on earth would we want to put our tournament in the Miami area. Outside of FAU, that is like 10 hours from the closest school.

You cant expect every fanbase to fly into the tournament...

Atlanta. Most definitely. The world's biggest airport, and a central location, relatively speaking. Big-name city for what will be a big-name tournament.

Atlanta is the college football capital of the US and with all the big games such as the Chic fil a kickoff, Chic fil a bowl, SEC championship it would only help the SB to be right in the middle of that. Not to mention, once they add Ga Southern and App State next year, Atlanta will be more centrally located and closely mirroring the SEC footprint.

That would double Georgia State's football attendance if they could get the SBC office personnel to attend games.

Kidding, couldn't resist.

TBH I'm fairly sure that one day the SBC will be adding Ga. Southern and App State...

But who cares. The SBC should move somewhere good!

My vote goes toward Nashville or New Orleans. Birmingham is more centralized for all the SBC teams (excluding TxSt and FAU).

I am guessing Atlanta will make a case because of accessibility and being an airline hub.

RE: SBC Offices & Tournaments in Atlanta?
Maybe I have finally found a reason to support that stupid idea of Birmingham building that dome. They could use it for the SBC football championship game. You got the BJCC for the SBC 03-shhhh. And I live there, so that is a big plus too.

As far as travel, you got plenty of crossing interstates and if they ever finish corrodor X, you will have interstate to Memphis. You got an airport with plenty of services. You don't have to be a hub to provide good services, but there are direct flights from Memphis, Dallas, Nashville, ATL, Orlando, New Orleans. It's got it all. Did I mentioned I lived there too. All this works into my plan. 04-cheers

I think Nashville is the best fit. It's the closest to the Belt's largest basketball fan bases.

I'm fine with Atlanta because I don't want to and I never will drive to Hot Springs. Atlanta will be a easy trip when I move out of Alabama at least but even Birmingham and New Orleans would be better.
