Question for Techies
I have Comcast at home, and can get WatchESPN (ESPN3).

This will also work on my IPhone.

I was in Florida recently and could not get it to work.

When I'm away from my home, can I get ESPN3 on my IPhone ?

RE: Question for Techies
I was in Nawlins this past weekend and was able to watch the Raiders on my iphone via espn3. I was able to log in via my Comcast id. Not sure why you couldn't watch it. Any specific error?

Nope. Just kept churning. Was trying to watch the Little League World Series. Never got an error message.

I was inside the condo where we had a good internet feed.

RE: Question for Techies
I was using my hotel's wifi and had to kill WATCHESPN once only because it acted a little funny. Not sure why it kept spinning on you. I had no problems outside of region/state.

Download the WatchESPN App. You must be on wifi to view it though.

That's what I was trying to watch from.

Is there another way to see the games on ESPN3 (on the Iphone) ?

I always get upset when I see "WatchESPN". I have AT&T and stupid AT&T doesn't want anything to do with WatchESPN. 03-banghead

That is the only reason I haven't left Comcast yet, however, if ESPN3 continues to black out games I will leave.

You can get ESPN3 on AT&T, just not WATCHESPN.

If you're being blacked on ESPN3, it's more than likely because the game is on CSS, which you should have if you have comcast, if you switch to AT&T, you'll still have blackouts on ESPN3 and you won't have CSS.

RE: Question for Techies
I have been messing around with playon.tv so I can get the South away games.

It was a really simple set up.
I was doing it for my kids' Wii so I can stream over that, but there were options in there for the iPhone/iPad.

Might be worth checking out.

Glad to hear that there is an Apple app to stream ESPN3!

But to answer the OP's original question, it all depends on whether the ISP carrying the WiFi signal is a subscriber to ESPN3.

Hope I didn't totally misinterpret the issue...

As any self respecting Tech fan will tell you, if you are having trouble with your reception, you better double check that you used some electrical tape when splicing into the neighbor's cable.

Try downloading the latest update for the WatchESPN app if you haven't yet. There were some kinks they worked out in this latest version. You could have the older version and that could be your problem.

RE: Question for Techies
The WatchESPN app has a reputation for not being as stable as it ought to be.

As Uverse customer how the hell would I know if its stable.

I despise Comcast but this WatchESPN thing coupled with Comcast so far being able to keep CSS off Uverse by suing the FCC for repealing the terrestrial exception has me tempted to come crawling back to them.
