Rough stuff but should be a good gauge to see where you're heading as a program. Hopefully the recent move up to FBS will motivate your players and give them "something to prove".

Exactly. Motto this year is ManUp and Finish since we lost so many games in the 4th quarter. The players have adopted the #STATEofSHOCK hashtag in response to what has been said about them publicly about last season and about their chances this year in CAA; meaning that is how they intend to leave folks, in a state of shock. Cannot wait for 8/30. 16 Days

Everyone should remember, GSU has not had any chance to recruit for FBS as the move up announcement came too late for this years recruiting as well.

But.....I'd really like some wins versus UTSA and ODU...'Jus sayin'. You get them both at the Dome.

I disagree. They've probably been telling their recruits they were heading to FBS from the very beginning.

No. Our coaching staff doesn't lie to our recruits like other universities with similar acronyms to Georgia State. Curry has said multiple times since the announcement he never expected the move to FBS to come so quickly.

We don't lie either. (to my knowledge). I know an App State recruit tweeted about how they'd be FBS in two years... I had that in my original post but took it out.

I don't think most lie. I remember the App State tweet. And there may have been some talk to recruits of schools that ended up in the BEast. But its not the norm. A lot of that comes from boosters and SHOCK message boards.

Well we play six home games...

Welp, I hope you win every home game. If we can avoid the smack...
I predicted you'd win 5-6 on CAAzone about 4 months ago.

SCSU: Very winnable, especially at home. SCSU used to have a very strong defense but that status has diminished over the past few seasons. Win

TN: I'm guessing you'll lose that one. Oh well, payday. Loss

UTSA: Win

UR: Who knows? They beat their FBS opponent last season but went 0'fer in the CAA. Their FBS-transfer QB graduated. A toss-up but leaning toward a win.

W&M: Bipolar last season, probably won't have a standout starter at QB, graduated our all-world RB (now a Houston Texan). W&M usually plays very well at home. Another toss-up but leaning toward a loss.

UNH: Loss. UNH has too much offense.

Rhody: Another bipolar team. Toss-up but leaning toward a win.

Nova: Horrible last season but strong recruiting classes the past 2 years.
You get a serious edge because of HC and Nova doesn't travel well. Win.

JMU: In Harrisonburg...no way, no how. Loss. If you go to that game, be prepared for a very hostile crowd and nothing to do before or after the game.

ODU: Loss.

Maine: I think Maine will drop a notch this season but your boys will be exhausted after 10 straight games. Cold weather. But, Curry will get your boys fired up in his last game...upset alert...win.

RE: GSU to Face on 2012 Schedule...
A logical assessment. It will all hinge QB play. CBC has called RJr. Kelton Hill the most talented QB he has ever coached. That is a long list. Still waiting for that aha moment when it all clicks mentally. He is so gifted physically that I think he believes he can always get it done by himself. The thing is that our starting trio of WRs are ridiculous. 2 will play at the next level. The third works hard enough that he will probably make himself a next level receiver. RB is our deepest position on the team. We need a point guard not a shooting guard. So depending on what happens in the next 2 weeks and who our starting QB is on 8/30 will tell the tale of our season.

If the QB works out well I could see GaSta winning as many as 4 games this season. Honest evaluation no smack.

RE: GSU to Face on 2012 Schedule...
Judging only by what I've read from Panther fans, the main concerns are the O and D lines. We know that all of the talent in the world at the skill positions doesn't mean much if the line struggles, especially as you get deeper in the season with no break. I know nothing about Hill but if he can run (I suspect he can), that will help. I also believe that another year playing together will allow you to avoid the 4th quarter meltdowns, which, I believe, would have given you a couple of more wins last season. The game against UTSA will set the tone for the season as a game one loss--if it goes down that way--can be attributed to the jitters and you won't beat TN. Should gel, level out mentally, settle in, etc by week 3.

RE: GSU to Face on 2012 Schedule...
D-Line is stout. I'm not very worried about our defense at this point. I'm most worried about QB still as our starter so far is a RS Freshman. O-Line is a bit questionable.
