FIU's lack of anything approaching professional conditions for members of the media has been assailed by numerous TV and radio broadcasters (including those from UL, FAU and Troy), as well as writers from the Dothan Eagle, Sun-Sentinel and more. The Troy contingent ridiculed the press "box" on Twitter, blogs and elsewhere. Especially disliked is the placement of the media near a corner of the end zone, where spotting is difficult at best.

I suppose they are all lying like me?

Anyway, the stadium enhancement is nice. It's not up to the high end of current Sun Belt offerings (significantly behind what UL, Troy, FAU, North Texas, WKU and MTSU have), but maybe it will play well in the big, bad CUSA.

Agree, and I put a true and factual historical perspective. The facts are there as I put them, for good and bad. It's true to say it was built with no legitimate press box. But to say today that FIU stadium was built with no suites is a lie, particularly when you know it, been there and seen it. It's also a lie to imply there's no press box since 2010, as my undeniable facts state. It's weird why someone will keep on saying the same thing knowing it's not true.

Hate away!! this is the USA after all. While most everyone wants to be liked, it has been my experience that the more successful a program/entity/person becomes the more disliked it will become to its adversaries. As such, I welcome the hate. But to give credit to FAU fans - - FAU fans have hated us through highs and lows. Gotta love that consistency. It's nice to know that FAU will always be there to hate us regardless of what we do.

Call me crazy but I only thoroughly dislike (not to the level of hate) the Florida Gators. Don't give much thought to any other team. However, I can see myself really disliking the UCF program if we keep playing them or if I keep reading their fans' opinions. Although many are courteous and well-reasoned posts.

Hates a strong word from me. I dont really hate any program in Florida. The Gators would be the closest because they have some OBNOXIOUS fans.

I will miss picking on FIU once they leave the confrence. I know not many FIU'ers embraced FAU as a rival but we sure did.

I take no small amount of satisfaction in saying that it would take FIU 7 years in a row of winning to even break even against FAU.

Just 6 not 7, owlfamily....

I will surely miss the FIU-FAU games, if they stop after this coming season.

Thanks for defending the truth, but I will take the opposite approach. I think we (FIU fans) should start to agree with all absurd "facts" about FIU thrown our way. For one, it will be entertaining to us, while at the same time mocking the so-called "deniers" or "haters." The point is that BMarkey (hope I got the name right) is a well-known FIU hater. We are not going to change that. There are dozens others out there that dislike FIU for whatever reason (our fans, our location in Miami, the success of our football team recently, out dazzlers, or our outsized hispanic population). Thus:

FIUFanatic you are wrong. FIU has a cruddy stadium, no press boxes, no suites. It is not completely enclosed. Our dazzlers are ugly and fat. Our football team stinks. FAU and Troy are awesome at everything. I feel much better denying the truth now! Okay nothing else to look at here, let's all move along.

Remember that one win was vacated by the NCAA.

I do hope we can try and keep each other on the OOC for football but that will be difficult. I think we will for sure in Basketball and Baseball.

But it still shows in FAU's record books as a 52-6 loss Nov. 25, 2005. The win was vacated by FIU, but the loss is not eliminated from FAU's record books. So, it's still 8-2 on the field.

So all we can do is enjoy this last Shula Bowl, and hope to leave a harsh departing taste in the mouth in our friends from down South. I've offered a friendly drink or two to the fans at FIUGoldenPanthers.com as a "thanks for the memories" and a "best of luck" gesture. No promise that the other students in the tailgate are will be as friendly, but "you gotta frieng in me." Toy Story anybody?

Hate to shatter your glass half empty outlook here, but FAU will be in C-USA sooner than you think. Being in Florida (or Texas for that matter) is your (our) main advantage. Being a large, public university in a large metro area with fertile recruiting is also priceless. And I don't see Garcia fighting too hard to keep FAU out. The man has big cojones and is afraid of no one. He may object to FAU but that will not be the end all. Do yourselves a favor and make sure your new AD has big ones. Between Schnelly and your last AD you guys screwed yourselves recently. But FAU and Middle are 2 of 4 schools that are not-so-far in the future candidates for C-USA in my humble opinion.

This is worse than a chick movie can you two stop the lovefest? Or take it to a local motel. But Panther is right you are amongst the most objective of posters on these sites, but don't expect all these lovey-dovey tingly good feelings from me. I will take a beer from you though.
