RE: Troy's AD Resigns
Many on the Troy board seem to believe the Troy AD did not produce as much revenue as hoped, but that most of all, he wants to see his son play football on Saturdays at Georgia Tech.

I think it's a combination of things. I think he was tired of the pressure of all the fans especially after last year... The money thing. And his son at GA Tech.

RE: Troy's AD Resigns
Pressure? If he thinks he had pressure at Troy, he better not think about AD'ing at a college that isn't afraid of demanding accountability. The leaders at Troy got off very easy after last year's debacle, the attendance slide and defensive and special teams coaching problems.

I wonder whether he was under any criticism for apparently doing nothing to position Troy for the conference alignment shakeup. Troy seemed to sit back and let it all happen around it (not that moving to CUSA would have been much if any of an upward move).

And I wonder if the slow pace of fund-raising for the end zone building and stadium enclosure hurt any.

All good questions. But I think it has nothing to do with our facilities or our programs because Troy has some of the better facilities in the conference... Troy was over looked to move to another conference because of market. Something Steve can't chance or anyone for that matter.... Like I said, if Troy were in a large city it would have left the SBC. The Montgomery market doesn't cut it.

We'll in FAU's case it was time to go. He did a good job on getting facilites setup and day to day stuff done, however he had almost 0 skill at making it rain.

AD's need to have a mix of both IMHO.

Many of our fans dont think ours is qualified enough to lead a growing Division 1 athletics program. He doesnt get along with John Brady at all, which doesnt help matters...

Have you ever met Brady? Tough to cozy up to. Nothing against him but not a marketing and public relations major. Decent basketball coach but don't stand too close if he is having a bad year..03-banghead

That is the idea I got too after hearing an interview with our play by play guy after he asked something Brady didn't like. Pretty well bit the guys head off. He has a rep. of not being all that easy to get along with.
