A ribbon board is nice, but far from a separating factor when it comes to comparing arenas.
Murphy Center has two large video boards and no matter where you are sitting in the arena you're never wanting for information. Now don't get me wrong, your new digs are nicer than ours, but nice as it is(ribbon board and all) it would be far too small for us.

RE: New Trojan Arena pics (6/16/12)
I could careless about size. TROY doesn't need anything larger than 5,500 for many many years. Of course I'm bias, it will be the best arena in the Belt.
All that aside, once Trojan Arena opens the Sun Belt will have facilities on par with CUSA and SEC. Who has the 2nd worst arena behind the old Trojan Arena? ULM?

I dont know about 2 Video boards but Trojan Arena is the only arena with a video ribbon.
It would be the only one with a full video ribbon board.
Louisiana's ribbon boards look great.

The Cajundome has them behind the goals.

Correct, but I was more addressing troy4ever21 who I interpreted as suggesting more generically that no other SBC arena had a video ribbon. A complete ribbon wouldn't work in the Cajundome due to the first level bleachers.
Beautiful place you have there, BTW.

I was just wondering if any other schools had one, it wasn't a snide remark or anything like that.

It's cool. Didn't read anything contentious from that. Just wanted to give proper props to our ribbons.

You were on a roll in that first paragraph, you hit two of the most common annoying message board grammatical errors in three sentences.
Ignoring the fact that "careless" is an adjective and used incorrectly in the sentence, the expression is "couldn't care less" not "could care less".
You are not bias, you are biased. Saying you are bias would be like saying "I'm hunger" rather than "I'm hungry" or "I'm anger" rather than "I'm angry".
Beyond that, the point I was making is a full ribbon board and two video boards will not automatically make your arena the best in the Sun Belt. Have you been to Diddle Arena or the Mitchell Center? They're both extremely nice. The point I was making about size was simply to illustrate that while your new arena may be very nice, different schools have different needs. I wouldn't trade the Murphy Center for the new Trojan arena, because I wouldn't trade 6,000 seats for a full ribbon board and the amenity advantages you'll have which will be primarily aesthetic.

That is funny.
I hold back way more often than not. I see spelling errors as well as your/you're and they're/there/their errors all the time, I see no point in correcting those as they are exceedingly common, they're usually just made in haste(I occasionally catch myself making one) and they aren't the kind that can be made in spoken conversation(one cannot hear the difference in homonyms).
I view the two I referenced a bit differently as they are both not the kind of errors made in haste, but rather usually because the user doesn't even know he/she is making them, furthermore, both errors can be made in spoken conversation as one can hear the difference in "bias" and "biased" and obviously "could care less" and "couldn't care less" are two completely different statements.
Personally I would want to be corrected if I were making those kind of errors. Making common spelling, punctuation, or homonym errors on a sports message board is one thing, making errors like "could care less" and "I'm bias" is another. I'd prefer to be corrected when making errors like that, rather than end up using them in an important conversation like a job interview or with anyone else I was hoping to impress. I would hate to get shot down at a bar because the really attractive woman I was talking to happened to be a high school English teacher...

Precisely. There are differences between common mistakes and ignorance of the language.
One of my friends here actually pronounces the word "literally" as "litally". I can't help but laugh every time he says it.

RE: New Trojan Arena pics (6/16/12)
Thanks for catching those mistakes. Not the first time I've been corrected and it won't be the last.
I've never been to the Murphy Center, but from what I've seen from photos and videos it looks like a great facility. I've seen Diddle from the outside when I passed through WKU's campus on my way to BGSU. I'm not saying Trojan Arena will be the best in the Belt solely on our ribbon board. Every fan believes their facilities are the best. TROY is finally out of that concrete box and we're pretty excited. Trading arenas would be dumb. Each school, like you said, has its own needs. TROY doesn't need 10,000 seats and MTSU needs more than 5,500 seats.
