University of Maryland is in a similar boat. We're AAU but the University of Maryland School of Medicine is in Baltimore, not DC, and is considered a separate institution. The research funding is counted as separate even though both the university in College Park and the professional schools in Baltimore (med, law, dentistry, etc) are both considered the University of Maryland.

Wrong, VT has dominated the ACC, they will still be there. FSU and Clemson have been disappointing lately. If FSU and Clemson go to the Big 12, they will suffer.

VT has been in 5 of the 7 ACC title games winning 3.

VT went 1-2 in the Orange Bowl as the ACC Champion too. That didn't help matters any...

No doubt the ACC has been horrible in the BCS bowls.

Folks playing Clemson in baseball lately have been holding up signs saying "WVU just scored again"...
