Or why everyone always denies everything whether true or false.

Since the ACC has raided the Big East twice, I don't know how they would have a leg to stand on.

I'm still reading it but this is a very good read on the subject. I want to quote certain Q&A portions of it to comment on but I have no idea how I will narrow it down to just a small number so that the post isn't too long and doesn't contain too much of the original piece.

Seriously, before any further conversation about possible realignment issues between the ACC and Big 12, everyone should read this piece. It breaks down the reality of the situation in a realistic manner that just hasn't been seen on this forum yet.

It was very informative, He1nous. But it was very boring reading too. I hate having to research all the ridiculous things society has to put up with to protect us from human stupidity...

Yeah I suppose to most folks here it would be a very boring read but to me that is actually inexcusable. People here all want to talk about this subject but without reading pieces like this then they will never have a true understanding of what is going on behind the scenes.

Just a bunch of ignorant heads headbutting each other for the thrill of it. 03-banghead

Speaking as a lawyer, this is a very good and accurate read.

I'm sure you know this (or I hope you would), but that's completely 110% irrelevant. How the ACC raided the Big East has no bearing whatsoever on any potential claims that the ACC might have against the Big 12 in a raid situation.

Actually, that's not quite true, Frank. The ACC destabilizing The BEast is why WVU is about to become a member of the Big XII. So it does hold some relevance...

In the sense that it's relevant to the chain of events in conference realignment, I can kind of buy that (but note that the Big 12 was going after Pitt in particular, too, so who did what first is kind of up in the air). What I meant is the relevance in a legal claim - whether the ACC induced Big East schools to breach their contracts (which they actually haven't) doesn't have a bearing on whether the Big 12 would induce the ACC schools to breach their own contracts.

Yeah it is kind of like if you break the law and your argument to the judge is that someone else did it and got a particular sentence, that judge does not Have to give you the same sentence nor are they obligated to.

Each case stands on it's own merits.

Another example would be if you were following a speeding car and the cop only pulled you over. If you were speeding then you are judged by your speed not the fact that another individual was speeding too.

The actions of the ACC upon the Big East only matter in this case on a Karmic level. 05-stirthepot

But it is on minor points like that that all legal actions revolve around...
