All of the schools in the Big West are broke the last thing they want to do is add a school that far away and hard to get to. Boise needed SDSUs help to get an invite and they probably threatened to move there excellent bball team out if they didn't.

How is Boise hard to get to? They do have an airport and i found it extremely easy to navigate

Idaho sympathizer, &/or Boise-hater.

LAME.

I would welcome that as a 51st state, because it's larger than West Virginia, and the culture of that region MORE than merits it...

Just my honest, humble opinion.

Even the "State of East Washington (includes Northern Idaho) would demote U. of Idaho & athletically keep only the current 'Washington St' as "State University..."

The university of Idaho is hard to get to is what I meant. I reread my statement and I guess it is confusing a to who I was talking about. And for the record i'm a huge Boise State fan, they are the reason I stated watching college football.

Last time I went to Moscow, Idaho ... a couple of years ago, I flew into Pullman airport and drove over. The time before that, I flew to Spokane and drove down. I don't see it as hard to get to ... but that's just me.

I don't think EW will ever exist, though I understand the geographical/culture desire to do that, and NI is definitely more compatible with Eastern Washington than Southern Idaho; that said, there is a world of difference between Eastern and Western NC too, many folks in ENC simply think their mountain cousins are in a different State.

Okay, sorry for my misunderstanding - in that case, UofI should probably consider the Big Sky. However, at this point I think they will hang with the WAC and any new incarnation that comes up.

I'm with you. We live in a day and age with airplanes and rental cars. Getting to Moscow, ID isn't exactly like Marco Polo trying to reach the Orient.

Pullman has an airport?
Flying would not be hard at all. You can practically fly anywhere these days. But driving there is a little more difficult. Driving there from Boise for example takes twice as long as it should because Idaho really only has 2 interstates so you are forced to take state highways. And the only one I know of starts in Payette County and you have to go north by Hells Canyon. What could be a 4 hour drive at the most ends up being about 6 hours in great weather.

No thanks on the 2 hour drive from Spokane. Land on a puddle jumper in Pullman? Add $500 cost to your trip, again no thanks.

At least you have the option of taking the puddle jumper. Even to some of the big boys it is a 2 hour drive from the closes airport. We get the fact that you do not like the northern part of the state of Idaho.

You're over-simplifying. The entire trip is in Washington, except the last 5 miles or so...

I've been to plenty of Southern Schools for games; Tuscaloosa, Gainesville, Athens... etc... many had a fair drive from the Airport. All are better trips than Washington St or U. Idaho.
