GS vs GSU vs APP AKA the Pimp your school thread.

I'm hopeful the BOT meeting at App last night had something to do with the Sun Belt. It's been a crazy ride this last week.

Actually, historical results are quite welcome when talking about GSU, and I would love to hear how App State stacks up.

We've won 13 (and counting) conference championships since joining the CAA -- good for Top 3 in the conference along with ODU and VCU. That's 13 conference championships in 6 years since joining the CAA. How many SoCon titles has App State won in the last 6 years?

Our baseball team is consistently Top 4 in the conference, and won the CAA title in 2009. Has App State won the SoCon baseball title recently?

Our basketball RPI would have been Top 3 last year in the Sun Belt. Where would App State rank? We've beating VCU two straight years, including the year they went to the Final 4. Has App State beaten a Final 4 team recently?

Within the last decade, our basketball team not only went to the NCAA Tournament, but also beat No. 4 seated Wisconsin in the first round. Has the App State basketball team recently won a game in the NCAA tournament? Ever?

We also finished that year with an RPI of 32. Has App State ever finished with an RPI in the 30s? 40s? 50s?

Our football team has only played two years of organized football, so it's a bit hard to compare to App State, which has been playing since 1920s, so let's look at the first two years of each program. We went 6-5 our year. You seem to have went 3-6. Did you play the defending national champion like we did our first year? We had a letdown sophomore season, going 3-8 last year. How did you guys do in your second year of organized football.

Please, answer me these questions. I would love to see how App State compares with GSU.

RE: Good meeting today
If you really want to get into this I can answer these at length tonight. For a taste check out the Commissioner and Germann Cup winners (best men's and women's programs in the SoCon): http://www.soconsports.com/ViewArticle.d...LID=264425

App has won the Commissioner's cup 31 of the last 34 years and won the Germann Cup 3 of the last 6, Furman has excellent womens' programs.

I'd bet App's won between 25-30 SoCon championships in the last 6 years.

We have won considerably more than 13 in the last 6 years. I don't have time to research the exact number right now, but I know we win men's and women's indoor and outdoor T&F almost every year, which would give us just under 24 in that 6 year period in that sport alone.

We won wrestling this year and had 2 guys finish in the top 5 of their weight class in the NCAA tournament.

Of course we've won the SoCon in football 6 out of the last 7 years.

Baseball: we are currently ranked in the top 30 in the nation and have been all year, including a series win over #4 LSU. The SoCon is a very tough baseball conference. We haven't won the SoCon in baseball in a while, but we are closing in on one this year as well as a CWS birth.

Basketball.... I don't want to talk about it. Although our women are very good and they may have won the SoCon this past year. (I don't remember)

I'm done chest beating. Cary on...

We don't make rivals on message boards, that is done on the field.

Using that argument, I'm positive our student-athletes wouldn't find GaState anywhere near a rival. That would be a "tune up" game to use the words of some Charlotte fans.

We can however sustain rivals on message boards.
