We have to wait until a board meeting to approve it.

RE: Texas-Arlington to SBC
Shouldn't we add a non-football team in the east to balance UALR? Otherwise won't we have odd divisions? Then we'll have to split up a group of eastern rivals.

Would we ever consider bringing New Orleans back just for basketball?

No, should work like this:
FAU
WKU
MTSU
Georgia State
Troy
South Alabama
UTA
Texas State
ULM
UALR
Arkansas State
Louisiana
Now if we add App State and GSU it gets messier. If we add them then one team has to go to the West.
As odd as it might seem, FAU might be a good choice. Teams have to fly there and back regardless of what division they're in. Just a thought.

Maybe when somebody picks off another cusa team, who in turn picks off another belt team, the belt will add Arlington FB and 1 other school. Same thing happen if CUSA decides to go to 16 in a couple years too.
LOL. It will be the BELT in 5 years picking off teams from C-USA.

Don't need to if we stay at 10/12, and REALLY don't need to if we go to 12/14.

Divisions in basketball dont carry the same weight they do in football. In a 14 game league schedule, you are going to play everybody in your division twice and one rival in the others division twice, along with 6 teams one time for a 20 game league schedule.
Because of the rival situation, the SBC could easily split up Troy and South Alabama in basketball only, knowing they could still play each other twice a year.
A 14 team baseball conference is messy...Ive been doing the math on it.

Sorry, I was already including Ga Southern and App State. It would suck if we had to split up South/Troy or MT/WKU.
Why would it be so hard just to add a eastern non-football member? Either way a eastern team is going to be pissed when they are split from their rival and division. I know I'll be pissed if they split up Troy and South.

There is NO way you can split up the MT/WKU rivalry. That would literally cause a 65 mile riot. That rivalry means a lot to both schools. However, if I never had to see WKU's mascot again, I would be OK with it. That thing creeps me out...especially when he jiggles his stomach. No offense, WKU. I just hate the way he shakes.

Is it important while you guys were threatening your president for not pursuing conference USA? I say send WKU west and make it a protected rivalry. Works out better for everyone that way.
