Tradition, the main reason that the BEast will retain their BCS bid.

How does the MWC even compare to the BEast schools ?

It's amazing that UC is in the Top 60 hanging around with schools like UCLA, Arizona State and ahead of Marshall and South Carolina, that's impressive! :D

3 NBE teams in the Top 25 - not bad.

Rutgers is in the Top 40.

I've seen this list before. It's a bit skewed, to say the least. Army, Navy and Rutgers are ahead of Miami, Florida State and UCLA. I wouldn't put a lot of credence in this list.

According to this list, Louisville is behind Eastern Michigan, Troy, Idaho, Indiana, San Jose State, Bowling Green.

Florida State is behind SMU, Toledo, Wyoming, Akron. and Northern Illinois.

We'll see how the NBE vs. MWC comparison manifests itself when UL (or UC, less likely from what I've seen so far) plays Utah in the Liberty Bowl.

I woudn't count out Southern Miss, Memphis, UAB or South Florida just yet.

This coming from someone who uses Sagarin to back up his arguments

Are you saying that this list is worth a damn?

Sagarin is at least part of the BCS formula.

I'm not. Just saying it (UC, UL or USF vs. Utah) would be the only opportunity for the NBE to face the MWC, so any speculation about one being better than the other is null and void.

I suppose we also have TCU on the schedule. That would settle it 03-razz

At least the historic list posted by WVU82 dipicts something TANGIBLE, like wins and losses. Tradition is the only thing that was discussed relative to that list.

As for Sagarin, I think ALL polls and rankings are basically BS. Maybe good to the first order, but they decide nothing in my mind. Even though UC is going to a BCS conference, I still would rather see a playoff system.

The bottom line is, to say one conference is better than another over a Sagarin rating is an empty argument.

Do you think Troy State or Wyoming have more "tradition" that Florida State? I don't. Sagarin may be garbage, but that list is more garbage. I'm sure any Louisville fan would agree with me on that one.

Sagarin's rating mean little until the sixth game of the season, He has said so in interviews!
