It's not like the Forty-Niners can simply invite themselves to a conference. The ultimate decision is in the hands of other people, and they are the ones holding all the cards, not internet message board fans of a football team not even yet in its infancy and which won't even hit the field for another year and a half.

Please can we have more of your insightful commentary?

This conference realignment stuff is always going to be a fluid situation. What's to say it won't happen again in 2015 when our FCS grace period is over?

As a fan it would be great to know our future conference but there no use to fret over not having a home immeadiately.

Hey Paul, what do you like watching other than your trailer flying through the air?
Too soon?

Please don't get him started. You've been around long enough to know better.

Just to fuel this fire a little more, Charlotte tried to join the FCS Southern Conference as a football only. The Southern Conference turned them down... lol (They had their reasons)

Make that The Big South, Socon, and CAA. Their AD basically came out and publically said they were going to use FCS conferences as a stepping stone, and then proceeded to seek membership, and of course the conferences said, the hell with that.

Socon and CAA also dont want another solo program. We're not going to let you drag the conference down with a start up program for three years, while you keep basketball, the only sport that would benefit the Socon or CAA to yourselves. Thats having your cake and eating it too, and it aint going to happen in the top FCS conferences.

The Big South rejection was surprising.
