Waahh. 03-weeping

South counts as a FBS and conference game this year so we can't do that can we? We will be full fledged DIV I after this upcoming season. Under your plan we would have already been playing you while we were FCS, which would have a lot of other people griping for sure. Not saying USA should have anything handed to them, as you are implying, but we are the only founding member of this conference still here. We deserve some breaks.

RE: Best Home schedule?
I don't know about being the "best" but I like the ASU schedule. We should sellout the Memphis game easily with our new coach, the season we had and Memphis having a new coach. We will draw well against Alcorn St. because it is Sept.

We get three national TV games minimum and only one is a home game so we don't give up too many Saturday games. We have a great shot at starting 5-2 and after that we get 9 to 11 days between several games.

Only downside is going to UL, Troy, FIU and UNT.

I'd prefer WKU be the last game of the year, since they're our main rivals. But Troy should be near the end of the year, as they are our rivals as well, though not as big as WKU.

WKU may be yalls main overall rival, but The Battle for the Palladium is the main football rivalry for both of our schools. There's no sense in denying that, even if it has become a one-sided affair. 05-stirthepot

The Palladium game is one of the premier rivalries in the Conference. Regardless of the fact it has been lopsided as of late, it is one of the most anticipated games in-Conference each season.

I agree. There is a much different feeling on gameday when the Palladium is on the line than any other game on the schedule. "100 Miles of Hate" will develop into an intense football rivalry but that game still lacks the intensity from the fans that is found in the Battle for the Palladium. I do prefer both the WKU and Troy games near the end of the season.

I can see the Troy-USA rivalry developing the same as MT-WKU. The proximity and rivalry from other sports will automatically make it a big game, but it won't compare to MT-Troy.

Did Troy have to first visit each school when they joined?

I don't remember, that's a good question. Regardless, it's just my opinion. 03-thumbsup

Im not sure on Troy, but I think we did that with Western. They played a partial conference schedule one year, and then hosted those teams the next year in the first year of a full conference schedule.

I'm with you on this! MT has always wanted Troy towards the end of the season. It just makes sense that a rivalry like ours would be better once both teams have their rhythm. Finally it happened!!!

Indeed it just makes the season so much better when you finish with a rivalry because win or lose it's something to go out with a bang opposed to the last game just being another game.
