well I'm sorry you had some negative experiences indianE. My wife is from Mobile so she and I are always concerned about how the bowl patrons feel about the city and the game.

95 percent of the non stadium problems mobile faced were simply not being prepared for the sheer number of ASU fans that showed up.

I would gladly go back, however. My hope is that South can eventually get itself a new stadium, and the bowl can move there.

LR would be an okay choice for a 3rd bowl game, however it brings very little appeal to ASU fans. That being said, Im not against a 3rd bowl being placed there if the city can get behind the game.

I like the New Orleans Bowl...would rather go there or Mobile any day than travel to Little Rock.

I hope that we can keep this as a third bowl because we desperately need more bowls the way recruiting is looking.

We can easily have four bowl eligible teams next season.

They move the contract for the MAC from the GoDaddy.com bowl to LR. Then add a contract for a BE team to come to Mobile to play the SBC #1 or #2. It would probably be Big East #5-6 that would end up in Mobile. Mobile is closer to BE country, LR is closer to MAC country. Atleast in my mind that is how that works.

Mobile was fantastic. Our group loved the city and we trucked around the bay area and had a great time. Food was really good, had no problem with service, but they did start running out of food. The stadium was not good. Transportation too and from stadium was not good.

Main suggestions are....better transport to/from downtown to stadium. Restaurants were all closed after the game was over....convince them to stay open late that night...they would have made a lot of money.

But I am ready to go back.

The bad thing about New Orleans is it's the bottom of two bowls, or as in this year three bowls, so the locals don't care or do anything special for it. I had a lot of fun in Mobile. Everywhere I turned were Asu fans. When we pulled up to the Uss Alabama, the parking lot was full of us. I ran into so many people I knew on that ship.

When I was young and in the boyscouts we spent a weekend on the USS Alabama. they closed it down and we slept on board and did all sorts of cool stuff. Had the ship all to ourselves for 48 hours, free roam of the whole vessel.

That would be a lot of fun!

With as many people who were in New Orleans for the weekend of December 17th...they knew we where there. And they took notice. Trust me, after the football game, people who live in New Orleans said they don't see Bourbon Street that full unless it's a big time Saints game, Mardi Gras, or some other big event. Take it from someone who spent three days in New Orleans, they did plenty for us.

RE: SBC in talks with Little Rock about a Bowl game
Contrary to some people, I think a bowl game in Little Rock is a fantastic idea. If we hold on to Mobile, and New Orleans (obviously) then we end up with 3 very centrally located bowl games. I said during the bowl season, that there needed to be either a Florida bowl game, or a more northern one, to either accommodate our northern edge (WKU and MT) or our friends in Florida (FIU and FAU). I will say that I don't blame the conference for looking to accommodate the northern edge after the fan showing by FIU in their bowl game in St. Pete vs the fan support shown by MT in both their Godaddy and New Orleans bowl trips. Really, this would give us 6 current members within driving distance (around 7 hours) in ULM, UL, UNT, ASU, WKU, and MT, and if La Tech comes back, there is 7.

I would love to see this tied in with the Big East,Big12,or the SEC. You would have to think that the SEC might want to add another bowl game with the additions of Mizzou and Texas A&M.

We have heard rumors over and over that there will be attempts for a 2nd bowl game in the Alamo City that will follow UTSA.

If Benson lures UTSA and Texas State over, you may get bowl #4 in Texas.

San Antonio would be a great destination bowl game for the SBC.

I don't see it with the Big 12 since they have contracted, but I do see additions coming from the SEC, ACC and BE. ACC and SEC would be great for the Mobile bowl, just because we are in SEC country and on the western edge of ACC.

First priority should be a bowl game in Florida. If we can't get that this year, I will absolutely settle for a third tie in next season - anywhere in the USA, even if it has to be Little Rock. I'm in as long as we send stAte, ULM, or North Texas there any time they are bowl eligible along with MT, ha. I'd much rather be in NOLA or Mobile.

After the realignment dust settles, if we have two Texas teams in our conference, I think we have to make it a priority to get a game in San Antonio.
