Bonus would be if one's team plays at Pittsburgh in September during MLB Season...as PNC Park is probably the greatest hidden gem out of all the new MLB Parks built in recent years.

It's one of the smallest...and every seat gives you an amazing view of the field and/or downtown.

Having seen Ivet in the thread... Chicago is high on my list, but is tough to justify during the winter, when we'd be playing them. If we ever have a roadie at DePaul at the beginning of March, it's something for me to consider.

You are right, Chicago in the winter is horrible to enjoy your time in the city if you don't know the place, but if you guys get a chance to go that way during any of the 3 seasons do it. You can get Cubs tickets for $2 dollars, the secret is to wait till about 20 minutes before the game starts, and then buy it on stubhub or one of the scalpers. There is a lot to do in Chicago, watch Ferris Buellers Day off to get some ideas, I honestly think that was more of a tourist video than a real movie. Also, stay away from the South side.

I've been to several games in Louisville. New stadium is awesome. Enjoyed tailgating, even though it got a bit warm being on blacktop. All of the fans were fun, pleasant, and very inviting. The city itself... fourth street is always enjoyable. Plenty of great places to eat. One of my favorite trips.

Soon to be BE member SMU is a close second. Dallas is amazing from top to bottom.

There's nothing better than driving through the tunnel. When you get to the end, the city explodes out in front of you. You see PNC, the Steelers stadium. Enjoyed my time there.

Sauce? We don't need no stinkin' sauce.

dry rub

That's basically what I was getting at. I prefer my barbecue sauceless. And Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous seems to be the place to get a fantastic rack of ribs. (Of course, we've got some good barbecue joints down here, and yes, most are dry-rub places that make a sauce for those who prefer saucin' their 'Que up.)

Rendezvous is owned by an SMU alum. Nice flavor to the ribs there.

Some of the Memphis fans also recommended Central BBQ. Haven't been there but would like to try it sometime.

I also like Neely's Interstate but those are wet ribs.

Louisville (still want to go to the Yum center), Pittsburgh, and Memphis are the only road games for bball I've been to recently. Really liked all three cities.

Off-the-wall attractions:

With Dallas, Houston and Memphis markets joining the Big East...one can go visit and/or get autographs from their favorite The First 48 Homicide Detectives that were seen on A&E's hit show from those cities plus Louisville, Cincinnati et al.

So you've been to Rendezvous? Awesome! And since you brought up Neely's Interstate having wet ribs, well, I'm not particularly a fan of wet ribs or wet 'que in general. I will, however, put sauce on one rib to see how it would taste, then continue eating 'em dry. I'm weird like that. lol

There is going to be a large group of Louisville fans visiting Depaul this weekend for the game. A buddy of mine at work is going with group of people who are taking buses and making a weekend trip out of it. I think he said they were taking at least 3 buses worth of people.
