The Bison is now yellow and apparently they're doing a fan referendum on "Bison" vs. "Bisons". I hope correct grammar wins.

I like the new look. The LU is looking a lot like Mercer's MU. However, MU clearly got their logo idea from Baylor so there's no room to talk.

It's hard enough to win basketball games as a D-1. Why do we have to win a spelling bee, too?

The Bison is a statue outside one of Lipscomb's academic buildings. The Bisons are the basketball team. If they make the change, the student newspaper staff may get confused and paper-mache Jacob Arnett. And nobody wants that.

If they drop the "S" and become the Bison, what's next? Are they going to start offering a major in dancing? (oh, wait . . . )

If they're worried about looking ridiculous to other NCAA members, consider that this is the same organization that says San Diego State can be in the Big East and the Big West at the same time.

Boise State is in the Big East, New Jersey Tech is in the Great West, and we're worried about looking silly for how we spell our nickname?

They're putting the question to a vote. Well, a comprehensive, Internet-wide survey of every Lipscomb fan in existence found that they are in favor of keeping the "S." The vote was unanimous: 4-0.

I don't think they were worried about looking foolish in front of the NCAA but your supposed to be an institution of higher learning and the school was being gramatically incorrect! That is what is embarassing to me.

There is a case to be made that in college sports, it's better to be wrong than anonymous.

I think it looks great. But what do I know?

Congrats on landing NKU. You guys will be happy with them, they were a solid D-II program w/ a D-I arena. I still think you guys should go after UNA as well then get Bellarmine for #12. They aspire to be D-I, and you can't get any better than the D-II champs.

Their website shows them as the Bison.

I think they said the polls would be open for a month, so they'll probably announce the result in mid-February, but they'll be the Bison until then.

The voting is open until Monday, but you have to give an address, phone number, e-mail, and a bunch of other stuff to get to vote.

I guess I can see the logic in that. Reduces the chance of outsiders skewing the results.

What a freaking fuss about nothing. You know you are a dooooche school when something like this comes up and you need to create a huge stink about it, have a poll and everything.
