I think it is interesting to see the attitude difference between say the MAC posters and the CUSA posters when it comes to how they treat the opposing fans in victory...

RE: Go Daddy Bowl thread
Im not surprised. Wish I could be, but we had to overcome too much.

We also were left with a group of assistants who were coaching but yet knew they were out of a job at the end of the game. Playcalling stunk. Gameplanning wasnt strong, and The normally reliable Ryan Aplin happened to have his worst game of the year

The running joke in Mobile all week had been that Gus Malzahn was officially taking over the team when the clock hit zero's, and he would be delivering the postgame speech to players after the game win or lose. By half, several fans in the stands could be heard asking if we could let Malzhan take over at half instead.

5 assistants who have never had another D1 coaching job and the most exerpience in the bunch spent a few years as a High School head coach. It just wasnt going to happen.

I agree with this. It's ridiculous.

By the way...I love everything about Mobile except Ladd Peebles Stadium...USA is going to need an On Campus Stadium bad... That place is a dump, and its in the middle of the worst part of town.

The crowd looked good on TV. At least until later in the game when it cleared out. Considering the start time for the game, not too surprising.

We'll be passing around the collection plate for a love offering every home game this season.

You noticed too. Everytime I saw that ad, I thought, I could write a better script than that. Pretty pathetic.

That's a weak argument. NIU lost their head coach last year before the bowl game and ended up blowing out Fresno State 40 - 17. You guys wanted a piece of NIU all season and dating back to last season. Well you got your wish and got roughed up. Take defeat with grace and admit the better team won. The MAC went 4 -1 this bowl season and tied for best bowl record of any conference. I think the it's pretty clear how the two conferences compared this season. Good season for ASU, better season for NIU and the MAC.
Agree. Best team won last night and a 4-1 bowl record puts the MAC ahead of the SBC. Congratulations. See you next season.

Why did Mobile insist on having that unappealing mayor have to insert his huge face into that commercial? It looked like it was made by a high school's AV club.

I agree that stadium looks really dumpy, old and ugly on TV, especially from the outside in the establishing shots.

It looks worse in real life. USA definately need to get an OCS so they don't have to play in that garbage heap.

Preaching to the choir. At the same time though, we probably wouldn't have been able to create our football program 4 years ago had it not been for Ladd already being there. And we are allowed to play there rent free for 5 years (2 more left).

But yes, Ladd is a craphole of a stadium in a terrible part of town. We think that an OCS announcement is on the horizon. State appropriations have been cut though for the last 3 years, and subsequently faculty and staff haven't been getting raises. It'll be a tough sell until that starts happening again and the overall budget gets back to normal.
