Is a school's message board activity (amount and frequency of posters) relative to other school an accurate gauge for the size of their fan base?

I'd say yes it is. But there are plenty of fans who don't post on message boards, so it is a limited indicator.

Interesting question....and I have no idea.

A school like Denver would be one end of that spectrum.

I dont know about size, but I think its a fairly accurage gauge for the opinion of the fan base.

I find it interesting the lack of students that participate in Ark.St's message board.

I didn't even know about it until after I graduated, but that was in the early years of the board
