Commish?
Do we look at the ex CUSA commish? Thompson (MW) is going to be the new CUSA/MW/Alliance commish.

Jason

I think if this happens, the CUSA Commish may be headed to the Big 12.

But if not, he'd definitely be worth a look.

RE: Commish?
So how exactly is a conference commissioner chosen? Who picks the candidates? Who interviews those candidates?

And what exactly are we looking for in a commissioner? What are the qualifications? Where does the pool of candidates come from?

I am assuming that we want a salesman. Somebody with a lot of contacts with the NCAA and with Bowl representatives. Somebody with management experience?

RE: Commish?
A committee of presidents will screen and interview candidates, their suggestion will then be taken to the full membership for a vote of all the presidents.

RE: Commish?
My personal hopes for a our next commish is for a younger person from another 1A conference (an associate looking for experience). Would be a good time to look at a minority candidate...I don't recall another major conference having one. I acutally hope our next one moves on to a higher paying job after 4-5 years. It would mean they have done a good job here.

RE: Commish?
Terry Holland, the AD at ECU, would make a great commissioner I would think. May be getting too old to want to change though, so wouldn't fit the young criteria. ECU would probably just raise his salary to keep him.

I am assuming that the Belt office will remain in NO---What about some Saint official????? just wondering that he would know the TV deals but an experienced AD probably would have a better command----Maybe David Walker the former UL AD that came to the AD spot from administration and recently retired could do the job!!!!!!
