Help WKU with a bowl
If things fall right over the next week I believe one of our best shots for a bowl game is the BBVA compass bowl. You can help us by liking on their facebook page and maybe leave a comment. I think the WKU fans have already over whelmed them but all help will be taken. 04-cheers

Thank you

RE: Help WKU with a bowl
I "liked" the page and posted a comment as well. I really hope they see the enthusiasm of WKU fans (and SBC fans) and take that into consideration. It's WKU's first bowl game at the FBS level and I don't see any reason for WKU not to pack that place. You might even get some MTSU/South/Troy fans making the trip up there to support you guys.

I remember TROY allowing USA students to buy student tickets rather than pay full price for the GMAC Bowl in 2009. Pretty cool collaboration I think.

RE: Help WKU with a bowl
I officially take back some of the things I've said about you Sun Belt guys in the past.

I seriously doubt any of this lobbying will help, but it's classy of you guys to go over and try to help out the Toppers in their quest for a bowl trip.

I'll go do the same for FIU at the Beef O'Brady's Bowl.

Appreciate it!

For those of you trying to find the Beef O'Brady's Bowl on facebook you have to type in St. Petersburg Bowl instead. I "liked" the page and commented. Good luck FIU!

*edit* Saw this over on the St. Petersburg Bowl page

Help WKU with a bowl
Facebook lobbying, tweets, emails, calls, or faxes (for those way behind the times) aren't going to do it.

There are more teams available than spots.

That means WKU & FIU need some combination of:

1. Luck. 2007 Troy didn't have it. Everyone thought Orange would take WVU letting Fiesta take Arizona State leaving Armed Forces short having to take Troy to avoid TCU-AFA rematch. Instead Orange took Kansas forcing Fiesta to take WVU opening Texas for TCU.

2. A good deal all parties buy into. 2001 New Orleans was willing to trade Colorado State to Silicon Valley if WAC would send LaTech and would take MT in Boise which would then take Boise from the WAC. LaTech vetoed the deal leaving Boise and MT out in the cold.

3. A deal that makes sense financially. I'm hopeful for FIU in St Pete because they are the closest available candidate. WKU with no track record needs help. That means getting swept up in a trade. If someone else needs/wants the MAC champ bad enough then a horse trade that sends a less attractive team to Mobile could land WKU somewhere. If a bowl wants CUSA to get a better local draw or avoid a re-match then trading CUSA out of New Orleans might land WKU somewhere else. WKU just doesn't have any leverage so they need help and even if they find it a shock selection in the BCS could blow it up as could a school balking at a trade.

Right now all we know for sure is the Red Wolves and Cajuns. We might get stuck with two or might catch a break for three or finally get lucky all around for four but until offers are made best thing that could happen is for FIU and WKU to start taking deposits and hope no more than UCLA and the Syracuse-Pitt winner get in the bowl mix.

RE: Help WKU with a bowl
Just to add on to a comment Arkstfan made about the winner of Syracuse-Pitt. Don't forget that Syracuse should only be 4-6 going into this game after the botched FG (or EP, I cannot remember) call that allowed them to win in OT.

Syracuse could win and go to a bowl that they shouldn't be eligible for.

Help WKU with a bowl
Interesting article today. CUSA getting booted from Liberty by contract clause that forces them to vacate and cover Birmingham for SEC and sends a Big East to Liberty.

RE: Help WKU with a bowl
not that it'll help, but I posted something on the BBVA Bowl page in support of WKU. I agree with wkuhilltopperfan, this is the post-season, we have to come together for the betterment of the Belt. It's us against the world folks, time to close our ranks.

I've seen several projections that have WKU against southern miss, I think that Is why. I've seen something where two Mississippi schools can't be paired and miss st I think will go to the liberty

RE: Help WKU with a bowl
Liberty supposedly has a written or at least verbal agreement that an SEC school can force the Liberty to pass on pitting two in-state schools.
