Denver BB ends Utah State's Home Winning Streak at 33
Denver Pioneers get the job done in Logan, 67-54 in front of 10,000+ in one of the toughest places to play in the USA.
Denver is now 5-1, with the only loss to #20 Cal.
Only Duke and Kentucky had longer home win streaks.

This is really a fantastic win.
Especially from a team that's struggled on the road so much in previous years.

Denver looks really good this year. Are they still running the Princeton?

Pete Cahill is a genius.
The Princeton offense is the bomb.

Yes, the Princeton is still the base offense DU runs, but they have added some variation to it now that there are some better athletes on the team to become less predicatable. When the system is well run, the passing weave and the backdoor cuts are fun to watch. That said, most of the guys on the team can shoot the three ball now, and that spreads the floor for the occasional inside play.
The team is learning how to win on the road now, and that is all about mental toughness and effort level.
DU has also played a pretty tough schedule so far including So. Miss, St. Marys, Cal, Utah State and we have Iona coming up, a top mid-major.

Its Pete Carill. And he was a genius. The Princeton can be very effective. A lot of what the Cajuns run is based out of the Princeton set as well. Just not as patterned and methodical as Denver's. I think Denver and MTU have clearly separated themselves.

South Bama not looking too shabby, either. FAU will be right there when it's all said and done.
At MT, we always have injuries, so we are not going to count our chickens before they hatch. Plus, WKU men will come around by the end of the year, with them playing all of those young guys. North Texicans get a boost at the end of the semester, too.
This could be, overall, one of the best seasons for the Belt in men's hoops in several years.

South Alabama has two losses on the young season, both to top 25 teams. RealTimeRPI had the Sun Belt listed as the 13th best conference last night (before Denver's and USA's wins). Regardless where we end up one thing is clear: the league is markedly better than last year.

Troy will be dangerous as well, if the treys are falling. Will never forget when they hit 26 three's in the SBC Tourney here in M'boro. Never seen anything like it before.

Asinine coaches picked Denver 4th in the West.
I thought that was ridiculous (espeically since I picked them first.)
With nearly the entire team back PLUS the return of Rob Lewis, DU is in it for real this year.

1 win against top 25 team, 2 wins against top 50 teams - Denver is coming on strong in their very last year! So weird to see NT and WKU sucking it up and Denver getting consideration for top 25 votes.
