WKU loses 72 to 61 with our three tallest players out.

Derrick Gordon got 25 in his first game as a Hilltopper.

ASU blows a big lead late and loses to Lamar in the last minute. Turnovers from lazy passes and poor dribbling and the inability to get the ball inside doomed us.

Not really excited to see how we played on the road, but hoping it's just early season jitters.

lazy passes all night. I was shcoked we stayed in it, I just didnt give us much of a chance, but Lamar isnt as good as I thought

The concerning issue is that it was partially Trey Finn who led the collapse, he missed several free throws late.

MT beat preseason OVC favorite Austin Peay at home tonight 80-71, without our 6-11 center (suspended 3 games due to something that happened at Okie State) and pre-season All-SBC guard Jason Jones (out indefinitely). Over 4,000 in attendance.

.
This team has a chance to be relatively good by February. If you told me our 3 tallest players didn't play, we shot 27%, and we had 127 minutes of action by players who have never played a NCAA game and we would lose by only 11 to a decent St Joe's team I would have said no way. 04-jawdrop

We looked pretty rough against a Tulsa team that had a couple of 6'11" kids that can play. Neighbor looks like he could be the real deal.

The concerning issue is that it was partially Trey Finn who led the collapse, he missed several free throws late.

Finn missed a FT, but it was really a team collapse.

Peterson had a rough time at the end while stAte was being outscored 11-1 in the last 4 minutes of the game.

1:39 Brandon Peterson missed Free Throw.
1:39
1:21
1:01 Brandon Peterson missed Layup.

0:41 Brandon Peterson Block.
0:39 Brandon Peterson Defensive Rebound.

0:29 Brandon Peterson Turnover.
0:29

0:07
0:06 Brandon Peterson Turnover.
0:06
0:06 Foul on Brandon Peterson

RE: Good Luck, Belt, in tonight's Season Openers !
this conference still SUCKS in hoops

apologies to middle, ulala, and unt.

i've said we suck and having 3 sitting out is OUR FAULT so no excuses.

biggest disappointment to me is asu. i keep hearing about a final 4 coach. well final 4 coaches don't lose to lamar. 213 in preseason pomeroy.

it's not like we're playing body bag top 25 teams.

another pitiful start by the sun belt conference.

good win by the muts as peay is favored to win the ovc.

we shot 26%. it will be a very long year in hilltopperland as last night proved.

gordon is legit. and he was only a top 150 recruit. one can't imagine how good tony mitchell is. he will DOMINATE this conference if we can't win ooc games.

i didn't think we could sink lower than last year but if we keep this up it's play in game again and that is embarrassing.
