There may have been 5000 t0 8000 more people there Saturday night than there might have been if the bastards hadn't kneecapped us.

It WAS a statement.

If UAT had our record.....wait they wouldn't let it come to that because of the significant investments they have made in their program. If we are allowed to make significant investments in our program we wouldn't be at 1-8 either and we wouldn't tolerate it.

you would think with those investments, it would be wise to have a kicker who could get it in the end zone and also a kicker who could get it through the uprights!!! what are they doing with all that $$ ???

And there would have been less Saturday night if the BOT meeting hadn't awakened us.

RE: Solomon is knocking our attendance again
This is an article Solomon wrote a little over a year ago (look past the Alabama stuff). We knew then that attendance would have to improve. Now a year later (despite FreeUAB and protests) the numbers are down. Whatever Solomon's motivations are (with this year's article) he does remind us that we have not been able to step up yet. That's not a good message, but it is a true message.

Win some games and watch what happens. Don't give a coach that's 13-29 (or whatever it was) a contract extension and see what happens.

+1
Attendance at Auburn and USM are down dramatically with a SINGLE year of poor on-field performance. Imagine what it would be if they had as many losing seasons as UAB has had(but, of course, steps will be taken to ensure that doesn't happen). Ask Miami and Memphis about that. In televised games they both have half-filled (or less) stadiums, but the reported attendance is close to capacity because season tickets are counted. So, if they don't show up the attendance count is still high. Season ticket counts for UAB are always gonna be a problem because of Legion Field's size. The place is so big that one of the main reasons for season tickets is moot - guaranteed seating.

I cancelled my subscription after reading the Birmingham News my entire life. The world is much brighter. The sports section is nothing but a UAT recruiting propaganda magazine. Anyone that buys or reads that trash any longer should be ashamed.
