Just read an article at home about Louisville's eight final 4 's and the expectations for Pitino to produce a few more. Made me wonder how many final 4 appearances other BEast schools have and how many our conference has as a whole...how we stack up to other conferences, etc. How many does your school have...if not Final 4...then elite 8s.

Quote:Nobody else can match that

The ACC has 40 Final Fours and 10 Championships. So their percentage of championships/final four is a wee bit higher. But... The BE's overall team participation is simply outstanding. Duke and UNC make up the ACC's lion's share by far. Just those two alone have 30 Final Fours and 7 Championships.

The Big 10 comes close too... They have 39 Final Fours and also 10 Championships, but their overall spead is better than the ACC's. The SEC is dominated by Kentucky and the PAC10 is dominated by UCLA.

Yes, it's amazing that every team in our conference has at least one final 4 except USF and seven different teams have won a championship. USF is a young program and with time and the support of a strong conference should be fine.

I thought Bulls Basketball had been around a long long time? Infact I thought I remember watching a South Florida Louisville game on tv in a icecream parlour in the St. Matthews mall in 1985, it was around my Grand father's birthday in March.

You may be right. I was just giving them the benefit of the doubt. I thought they were in Division II for years, but maybe not.

In football maybe, but according the USF's basketball media guide, they have been playing major college basketball since the 1971-72 season. That's a good 8 to 9 years longer than UAB.

Uuuum, '72, the year Louisville got it's second final 4 (the first of Denny Crum's 6)...still a relatively young program compared to the other programs in our conference. I still don't want to kick them in the throat, hope they will use the BEast to their best advantage and come up in the world of college hoops.

Before 1985 and after 1985, it takes more games to reach final four. Right now with kids staying one or two years and some time skip college altogether winning multiple national championships is amazing accomplishment. 04-bow :D 04-bow
