OT: My Grandfather
Sorry to bother you guys but my grandpa has been in the hospital for the last week because he caught pneumonia and he is 84 years old. He was just moved to a hospice room in the hospital so it looks like he is going to pass on within the next couple of days. I have been a religious person all my life so it would really make me a happy person to see some of you guys wish my grandfather the best even if you are not religious.
Thank you and I will keep you guys posted on my grandfather.

No bother. We whine about enough silly stuff on this board.

Im all in. I'll pray for your Grandfather and certainly keep your family in my prayers as well.

You got it. Mine is 79 and was hospitalized earlier this week with some issues. He'll be checked out and going home soon, if not today. But it is always a scare when they're up in age.

Praying for you and your family.

I have one left-- she is 92 and still living in her own home.

Wife's grandmother is 95, but in an assisted living facility.

Thanks, guys. It means a lot, esp. from two great folks I've met personally.

I got to see her recently, and have recent photos. Wish my 2-year-old daughter could have gotten to know her better.

Thanks. She died peacefully while sleeping, and was not ill (that we know of). When I leave this Earth, that's the way I'd choose if I had a choice.

How is your grandfather ?

Well I tend to agree with you there, I also hope that I pass in my sleep without any suffering. As for my grandpa, he is actually doing surprisingly well. When i saw him the first day that he was moved to hospice I sort of had already accepted the fact that he wasn't going to make it any more than a couple days. But when I saw him yesterday he was able to sit up and eat completely on his own. After talking to the doctor yesterday if he doesn't get any worse within the next week he will probably be able to go home. So right now things are pretty good.

RE: OT: My Grandfather
I pray that you are able to gain the closure you need with him and that he goes peacfully. Im 28 and only have 1 grandparent left, and my grandfather on my dads side, I was never able to meet him as he was in a plane crash at an airshow when my dad was only 15. Good luck with this tough transition.
