kudos if they get others calling them what they want.

my youngest son who is a freshman calls us wku. i call us western....i'm almost fitty-freakin'-two years old and it's western to my generation. the school promotes wku and it's making headway.

i call the following:

middle
south al
troy state
asu
little rock
big lots (i keed...i keed...i call em ulm or monroe)
fiu
flarda atlantic
north texas (unt if typing)

Agreed with just about all of those. I always say Western, but I'll type WKU more than I will Western. Same with UNT. My Dad went to USA, and he's always called it South, so I do as well. And for the longest time, I resisted saying Troy and would still say Troy State or TSU. I was in one of the last few classes to graduate when it was still Troy State. They announced the change while I was in grad school. I graduated in the summer of 2004, and I think the name change took effect the end of the next summer.

i consider z a friend so maybe he has room for one too old to change or care person on his friend list.

I much prefer that good ole day’s when you guys were the Kentucky Wesleyan Goat Bangers and we were ULALA Thugs! Oh, how I yearn for yesterday!
