Not much has been said about it, but Winchester, in my judgement, has played fantastic in the defensive backfield. He is all over the place, making solid tackles. He has saved the day a few times chasing down players, and it does not appear that his size is making him a target for offensive coordinators. Perhaps best of all, he is a huge energy guy who is inspirational to watch. I am certain his teammates feel likewise.

Moving Winchester to defense was a brilliant move by Cubit.

Agreed on all counts.

I am sure someone will effectively expose him at some point, even the good ones like Toler do.

There are two traits I really like about Winchester.
-wraps up. Like a wrestler on a take down. Head to the side, shoulder into the midsection, arms wrap, knees bent, explode and hit, squeeze and LIFT. Very effective and nobody leaves that meeting without knowing they met #23.
- enthusiasm. Yup, on D you really need to play with passion. It's reaction to what the offense does. Executing a counter move and doing it effectively merits that type of punctuation!

Yes. I was going to mention how he "form" tackles; and in my book gets style points for that. He is a "football player", and plays like a real speedy old school guy. You can tell he understands the game well, which is why he transitioned so well, and so quickly, to defense. He clearly loves being on the field.

I think the very fact that he was an outstanding running back he knows what it takes to bring someone down and what is a gamble.

He's been great on D - absolutely was an awesome move by the coaching staff.

Might get beat on occasion due to his height, but that's the only reason... otherwise he's always out-working everyone else on the field it seems.

Would have been brillant if he had depth there before the move. I'm just say'in. He has been $$ though.

Kid should have been moved years ago. He looks like he loves hitting, and he can have more fun doing it defensively then trying to inflict them on defenses as a scatback.

The very reason when healthy he was a very good running back. He would deliver the blow while running and his pass protection was near fautless.

He's a football player. Clear and simple. I love watching the kid.

Used to be fun to watch him pop linebackers in the mouth in pass protection.
