Oh boy....

Wonder where it all trickles down too.

Crazy this is happening in the middle of the season.

Looking like CUSA is about to get raided.

The way I see thing happening is the BIG 12 goes after BYU and some BIG East teams.

The Big East is at 7 with Cuse and Pitt gone. They start looking to CUSA teams to fill the void with ECU and UCF at the top of the list.

I guess all we can do is hope that our AD's are making the right calls and getting our names thrown out there to put is in the best situation.

Im still not sure that CUSA would be a huge upgrade if the best get plucked from it.

UCONN and Rutgers have not left yet.

The Big East guys were in meetings all night.

1) If they can withstand the Big-12 raid intact, then I think you'll see ECU and UCF to the Big East, and the Big-12 turns to BYU and, maybe Houston.

Then, WKU and FAU to CUSA, and UTSA as well if they lose Houston.

SBC would then add NMSU, Texas State, Louisiana Tech, and Appalachain State after Missouri State turns us down, again.

2) If the Big 12 does raid the Big East, I think you'll definitely see UCONN and Rutgers go to ACC with at least Louisville , Cincinatti, and West Virginia to the Big-12. USF is screwed.

The best thing for all Belt teams is to stick together. We are the most stable conference. The WAC and CUSA are falling apart.

I can tell you that the Belt has already sent out invitations and are awaiting a response. Texas State, NMSU and APP are not in that list. Missouri State has already turned us down again because of our poor basketball RPI.

Here is a list of teams Invited

USM (Waiting to see what CUSA looks like after the raid)
La Tech (waiting to see if they get the CUSA invite)
Georgia St (I know most will hate this)
UAB (same as USM)
Tulane (same as UAB)

Are you saying the SBC has invited these teams already? Where's the news article?

Georgia St and Tulane? No thanks.

To much flux.........The Belt (and I can not believe I am saying this should add Tech, USM and UAB and be the stable partner........The teams that run to another conference now as in CUSA are only looking for more angst with all the upheavel......This is not done yet but stability seems to be a good route at the moment.......and the Belt seems to be the place to be if you are not presently in an AQ conference........Look for a new Belt to pick up a couple new Southern Bowls and to pick of the fluxing AQ schools in a year or two.............

Wonder if Ark State fan has a theory about this?

I have talked to someone within the ASU athletic department. Trust me when I say the Belt is taking action to keep the conference alive. Every Belt team is looking at CUSA and waiting to see if UCF and ECU get the Big East invite. WW wants a commitment from all schools that we will stay together.

Don't the bolded teams put a lot of eggs in a few baskets? Does the 'Belt really want to have 3 teams in LA and 3 in Alabama?

USM would be a no brainer, and I see the Ga State thing because it does get us into Georgia (But I'm still not thrilled with a FCS team)

I've stated it many times, GA Southern > GA State.... However, we don't need to go adding FCS teams anytime soon.

It's Birmingham news announcing the Mizzou move, SEC of course denies it. But ESPN feels Mizzou might stay now that the Big 12 is staying intact. Wait and see.

As for the rest, BIG 12 still has to fill the TA&M spot with 1, which may be BYU. But could potentially go back to 12 by taking a couple other schools, maybe from the BE.

BE has to fill 2 spots of PITT & Syracuse, and maybe more if raided from the BIG 12.

So more waiting... 01-lauramac2

To put it in terms the La Tech fans could understand..........We in the Belt are like someone married to a really pretty good looking woman and you Conference USA are the hot looking babe who is wanting to lure us in with promisses of something BETTER......So we leave our stable somewhat attractive loyal wife to move in with you to find that hell you left and replaced yourself with a 300 lb woman from Ruston with 3 teeth.....My point is knowing who your partners are going to be etc is not always a place of being worse off....The Belt never looked so good.....

This whole thing reminds me of when a salesman comes to your house or calls you with a GREAT DEAL that you have to sign on the next 24 hours or you can not sign at all..........looks to good to be true........and 98% of the time it is..........FIU may jump at the chance for Big East but to Conference USA I would wait.......all of us Belters should wait........I believe they will be coming to us.....

There was talk that the BE may have more leverage than the Big 12....but wherever Texas is has alot of clout.....The BE (anything that sounds like a medical procedure) maybe doomed
