POTW Streak Ended
NIU's streak of 11 weeks in a row with putting someone on the MAC West Players of the Week has ended.
I really thought Harnish had a chance, as he statistically had just about his best game ever, and at a Big Twelve stadium to boot, but Page's performance at OSU won out. My guess it didn't help that he won the award last week.

HOW DOES CHANDLER NOT WIN THAT?
What's getting overshadowed in our awful defense is just how amazing he was on Saturday. One of the best games by a QB you literally will ever see.

How does Harnish have over 400 yards of offense and 5 TDs but doesn't win it?

Kills me to say this, but maybe the beginning to the polics to PAge winning MAC player of the Year.
Not only did Harnish have a great game, but so much more is put on the shoulder's of a QB than it is a receiver. If a receiver runs a wrong route or misses his blocks, or even drops a pass, it can be over-shadowed by 100+ yard game, but a QB can make one bad pass or just a few within a whole game and it appears he has an awful game. To me, for a receiver to beat out a QB just should rarely happen, even if Page is a spectacular talent who may translate better to the NFL than Harnish.

No way. Understood it's only two games, but Harnish is on pace for numbers around
3000 pasing yards
1100 rushing yards
66 total touchdowns

I thought Harnish was a lock to win POTW this week. He carried the offense on his back and was a one man show on Saturday. I was thinking he is on track to win MAC MVP.

If he keeps this up there's no way he doesn't win MAC MVP.

+1
I would trade that and rather see him get picked in the fourth round or higher instead of a Player of the Year award. Would be great exposure for NIU and he deserves it. Let's just keep him healthy.

Page had 12 receptions for 145 yards and 2 TD's. Well, he would have had 13 catches, but the one was thrown backwards and considered a run. He also threw for a 2 point conversion. He returned 2 kickoffs, one for 23 yards and one for 42 yards where the last player that could stop him from going the distance made a shoe string tackle. After that, they squib kicked each kickoff away from him. Pretty funny when a high-end Big Ten school is afraid to kick the ball off to a MAC school's kick returner.

He was awarded Offensive Player of the Week, nothing to do with special teams. Although Page played well, his performance still was no match for Harnish's. Harnish not only threw for over 300 yards (82%) and two scores, he ran for three scores as well, five total touchdowns. He was a much bigger part of his respective OFFENSE than was Page. My point was simple, you can't compare a guy who touches the ball a handful of times throughout a game, and who is allowed to take plays off, to a quarterback who is responsible for every single snap on offense (not to mention our QB is asked to run the ball ten times a game). Page played well, Harnish played great. Advantage should always go to the quarterback, plain and simple.

I almost think they gave it to Page because they think you can give it to Harnish every week.

I never said either Page or Harnish deserved it over the other. Someone asked what Page's stats were.
Of course you have to figure that Ohio State's defense is better than Kansas' defense so Page's numbers were impressive in that regard. However, I have seen Co-MAC West Offensive POTW's before and they could have done it that way this week.
As for your comments on advantage to the QB.....then have a QB of the week and a Rest of the offense of the week award. Seriously though, it isn't fair to the rest of the offense if you always give it to a QB because he touches the ball on every offensive play. Those wide receivers, running backs, and tight ends are also doing things on every play that gets less noticed. Things like blocking and in the case of Page taking 2-3 defenders out of the play because of getting double and triple teamed.
