Could using Cam Bell more on offense help our defense
We now know that NIU scores early, often and very quickly. We also know that our defense is weak.

I do not think that you can play ball control with Hopkins and Womble but I wonder if you mix in Cameron Bell and begin giving him some carries if our offense might be just as effective but take a bit longer to score.

They need to try something.

Better idea.

Get him back to his original position at Iowa State of LB. We need size at LB. Except for Schiller our LB's look like DB's.

He's a beast and I hope the coaching staff considers that. We need to find playmakers on defense.

I'm sure he would be willing to do whatever would help the team, but I feel bad for him if that were the case. If I recall part of the reason he transferred from Iowa State was b/c he did not like playing LB and wanted to move back onto offense which is where he wanted to be the most.

Well, it's not like he's getting a whole bunch of touches on offense. If he can be a playmaker on defense, that's where we could use him.

I am not at all sure that it is that easy at this level to switch to a position that you have not practiced or played in two years.

I would start handing him the ball on occasion trying to slow down our scoring drives. I think that he can run effectively. Did he get any playing time at all on Sat?

That was the reason.. but like the other person said.. I think just being able to play would be great..

you can't worry about the offense scoring too quickly, you just can't. Yes, in a perfect world they'd take up more clock, or had a 8 minute drive in the 4th against Kansas, but you score however possible when you can, it's not that easy to just slow it down.

find a way to fix the D, don't touch the offense.

No, just no. The offense is awesome. Them and Chandler are going to obliterate the NIU record books.

If it makes sense to use tempo to press an advantage on offense, why not use tempo to help cover weakness on defense? You are using tempo in either case but you are using it to your best advantage.
