No, I didn't have time to setup anything like that and it was not really a true NIU friendly place. Not that they were unfriendly but the owner required that most of the big TV's to have the ND/Mich game on. Even though there were more people in the bar half to watch the NIU game dressed in NIU swag.

There was actually a NIU alum and his son that happend to be there that knew nothing about the game. He came over to see why we were cheering and saw the game on. When he went back to the other side of the bar he asked for the game to be put on. The bartender said that it was just supposed to be shown on the other side where we were. That side of the bar was totally empty other than the 2 guys next to him that could not see the TVs anyways. After the NIU alum got that answer from the bartender he looked around behind him at the empty bar and said something to change him mind.

I didn't expect much but if I were to have another one of these I would try another place.

We did have a better turnout than I expected.

Either way props to you for setting something up like that. If we can find an alum like BEER in the city around the suburbs here, I think we might have something going.

Great job HJ! Someone mentioned that the owner of Anyway's was an NIU Alum. Since Anyway's just opened up in Bloomingdale(About a mile from Bulldogs), and that area seems convenient for alot of the guys, maybe that might be a possibility.

That is what I was thinking. Though I would like to see if I can chat with this NIU Alum/Owner to see if they are willing to give us a home for a game or two a year.

The only other game I was thinking of for this year is the BGSU IF its on ESPNU and not ESPN3.com. I don't get the U and if it is not on ESPN3.com then I will have to go elsewhere to see it.

Again thanks for everyone coming out.

enjoyed myself @ ale house - except for final outcome.

sat at end of bar with other huskie fans, maybe a dozen or so in attendance in all.

left shortly after game ended, bummed out.

game had ending not unlike MiamiO-NIU and Akron-NIU in MACC games.

the blown pass coverage on second to last of KU's TDs was once again disturbing and painful to watch.
